LMAO Williams exposed

Williams won because his aggression was effective.

Froch was aggressive but lost because he wasn't effective.

Everyone keeps mentioning Pierre Benoist, we all know his scoring way off but fortunately his scorecard was not necessarily the deciding factor. Even if his scores were closer, what about the other 2 judges? None of them gave Martinez the nod, not even Harold Lederman. All this suggests was that it was a close fight with Paul having the edge. If you preferred Martinez I can understand- boxing is subjective but to suggest that it was a robbery is just as bad has having a 119-110 scorecard in favor of either man.

As for the OP this thread is silly. Exposed is such an overused word that sometimes I don't think people know what the meaning of it is.

 

Unbeaten against a bunch of nobodies. Look at the list your using as examples. Unbeaten means jack **** if you don't fight quality opponents. We'll see if he in unbeaten after this tourney.... he'll finally face some decent fighters.....You ask some, he already lost to an unproven rook. And agression counts if you actually throw and land some punches....Williams did tonite. I'm not arguing the validity of the decision right now, but for some to compare Froch/Dirrell to this fight tonite is bull****. That fight was horrible....horrible because Dirrell was running and holding and falling and because Froch actually looked like the inferior fighter despite this and fought dirty. This fight tonite was an epic and both fighters fought hard and with skill.

 

Letterman was terrible tonight and you using the judges as your main justification shows that you don't know what the hell you're looking at, forget about scoring a fight.

PW's aggression was not very effective and in all the relativly close round Martinez landed much harder and cleaner blows. (while being aggressive himself with his counter punshing & being willing to stand and trade pretty often)

This is blatantly obvious if you know what it is you're watching along with the evidence, Williams mangled face.

 

Well the fact is Paul Williams threw more punches and landed more punches. He was also the fresher of the two by the time the final bell rang.
He was aggressive and took the fight Sergio. Sergio landed some great shots but not enough to win some of those rounds. One or two flashy punches is not enough to sway the round especially if the other fighter is winning the majority of the round.

Take round 1 for instance. Sergio's knockdown was clearly better, but that is cancelled out by Paul Williams knockdown in terms of scoring. So what do you go on? Well the majority of the round was dictated by Paul so I gave Paul the first round by virtue of the fact that he controlled the round and the 2 KD's were a wash.

 

I agree with you on rd 1....and the rest actually.

 

Why should anyone dignify this with a serious response? Quintana is a very good fighter and to call Cotto a scumbag hype job shows a classlessness that should be banned.

 

I don't know how anyone can complain or talk **** about either Williams or Martinez. What was on display were two fighters who are at the top of their game, putting everything they had in the ring. Williams showed some shaky defense, but he also showed he's got an iron chin and the heart of a true warrior. Discrediting either of these guys after this fight only shows that you're a dick, ready to hate for no reason.

froch at 4? really? that's ridiculous. Haye at 5? why? where is jmm wasn't he just #2? so he fell completely out top 10 because he lost to floyd?

I don't believe Williams got exposed at all. If anyone knows anything about Boxing or have ever been in "A RING"...All Southpaws will tell you...They hate fighting other Southpaws.

They spend their entire careers...youth boxing, Jr. Golden Gloves, Amatuer Tournaments fighting nothing but Orthodox fighters....Then when they fight another Lefty they struggle.

Williams has struggled twice in his career...Both against Southpaws.

But WE all saw two things after this fight...Williams CHIN is TOP-NOTCH...And we have seen why no-one wants to fight Martinez nor Williams.

With Martinez being 34...he needs to do all he can to get those BIG $$$$ Fight now...(Angulo, Spinks, Pavlik...or imagine Martinez vs Kirkland...DAMN!!!)
