So for some reason I decided to pull up Mayweather/Gatti and watch a few rounds. Watch Lampley carefully at 0:55 as the he turns it over to merchant and the cameron zooms in on Larry..... it sounds like he is trying to stifle a laugh (at drunken Larry's expense) and keep his lips from trembling. Hell, maybe he was on the verge of tears -- you just never know with Lamps.. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpeRlacvPBs&feature=related[/ame]
Yeah it looks like he's trying not to laugh but it may be for whatever reason. During zooming to Larry he's supposed to look at him and keep he's face pretty much straight.. Pretty comical itself lol
I have watch lampley more often when it zooms in on merchant. I have a feeling this might not have been an isolated case. He probably cracks up when Merchant puts his head down and tries to weave lines of poetry into drunken ramblings.
On a more general note, this was the first Floyd fight I ever saw. I prefer his boxing at this weight -- he looked more agile, and his handspeed was dazzling. Both of those things are still great today, but you can see the difference that age and higher weights have made.
You're wrong...He was saying he worshipped satan, but, he said it backwards...Watch it again a few times...
