There are many fights that are PPV now that would have been on ESPN 10-15 years ago, and would have been on broadcast TV 20-25 years ago. That's what's happened to boxing - it's migrated from free TV to basic cable to Premium cable/PPV
a fight like this on ESPN for example would bring a lot of interest back into boxing if it delivered.. which it has the potential. But apparently thats not happening.
Simple. ESPN, HBO, Showtime, etc. didn't buy the fight and so now since nobody is buying the fight the people involved make it a PPV instead of just not having an outlet at all.
PPV....lmao. If none of the networks wanted to touch this joke with a ten-foot pole it says a lot. Why on earth would anyone with a brain want to see this fight, let alone pay for the privilege? Oh, wait, some fools on ESB actually will pay for it. lol. Never fails.
The fight does not make much sense in the first place. Why is Tua wasting his time with Barrett? The guy has become a journeyman.
Tua is coming back from a long lay off so he's fighting a few stiffs to ease back into top level competition. PPV for this fight is a farce.
this is an exaggeration. A fight involving Monte Barrett would bring a lot of interest back into boxing? Have you seen Monte Barrett fight lately?
it a **** fight between two guys that should have retired 2 years ago. you dont have to buy it and theres plenty of ways to see the fight.
