If any fans still discounted the impact of "home field advantage", I don't think they should be any longer. Through the first round of the tournament, the only common thread linking the winners was that none of them were the visiting man. We saw a controversial decision and reffing, and those were happening in the fights that weren't even in Germany, which, rightly or wrongly, has the worst reputation of the three! What does this mean? It means that in round 2, take that into account if you haven't already. Ward in California and Froch in England are going to be tougher outs for anybody in their back yards than if they're traveling and draw a ref that makes them fight differently. *This post isn't meant to take anything away from the winners of round 1- it's just something I found interesting, and I'm curious to see how long it'll take for the visiting fighter to win.
AA won fair and square,Froch's win was contraversial, Ward won easy but he would not have got away with the dirty tactics elsewhere
