He's strong, fit and has a decent punch so of course you have to give him a chance. Pavlik is good but not invincible.

Should make for a very good fight. Two go at em guys. Pavlik is great and has met some tough opposition recently maybe he considers this a gimme untill the Abraham fight and if that is the case Lockett has a huge chance. It is hard not to favour Pavlik by a huge margin but Lockett will bring everything he has.

Can't see him beating Pavlik, but ad82 is right in that Lockett has a good punch but I don't think he is ready for someone like Pavlik. He hasn't fought against the type of opposition (Taylor, Miranda) Pavlik has faced.

Has lockett been down before? whats his chin like?

If its pretty decent and he can take Pavliks punch then anything can happen with Calzaghe in your corner, plus He is super fit and a decent puncher.

I could see this fight being alot like Skelton vs Chagev, with Lockett being underestimated and causing problems for Pavlik with his work rate and being able to take a punch, but Pavlik eventually taking control and winning a decison.

I presume this replaces the Duddy fight due to his injury?

Yep, Duddy is out because of the injury but also not guaranteed to get back in ever since Arum said he looked dreadful last time out. If Lockett can take Pavliks power then it could get interesting. I'd like to see the fight happen.

Stylistically he's got a shot at this.

Eastman is past it now so here's how I would have it.

    1. Duddy / Lockett
    3. Elcock
    4. Eastman
    5. Andy Lee
    6. Mathew Macklin
    7. Darren Barker
    8. Paul Smith
    9. Darren McDermott
    10. Kerry Hope

Good list. I have it pretty much the same. Some good guys there and a new breed of Smith, Barker and Lee to take over from the guys at the top.

Mackin deserves his plaudits, I would love to see him in with Duddy. What a great all Irish affair that would be.

I can not understand why Kerry Hope figures so high? He has decent potential but not enough to be rated top ten at middle in Britain. In his place I would rather add Blundell, Thirwell, Maxwell, Concepcion or a fighter I really like the look of Geard Ajetovic. All lay claim to be higher than Kerry. Lee Noble kicks ass too. :yep

Yep, Kerry was my odd choice there. I see more potential for him though. The others on your list have all had their limitations shown. I've seen Kerry fight live a few times and he's a whirlwind but without much pop. I would take him over Blundell, Thirwell, Maxwell, Concepcion or Ajetovic bur maybe Blundell deserves the 10 spot as he's achieved more inhis career.

Have you seen the state Lockett's face get's in?

If Gary does'nt get blown away in the first round or two he'll get TKO'd when his face starts to look like blister filled with blood.

We are talking about a battle tested, undefeated, Undipsuted World Middleweight champion who KO's nearly EVERYONE he fight's fighting a domestic level fighter.

Kelly will beat the **** out of him.

It would be the biggest upset in boxing history if Gary beat Kelly.

To be honest I hardly know what the kid is like. Just bits and bobs really and he may have good potential but he's a 10/11 fight novice still compared to some of the guys I mentioned. Most have shared the ring with some tough gutted fighers. Blundell is getting on now but his experience would be good and as for the rest they have all gone about abit more. Ajetovic will cause somebody some problems when he gets a good fight.
