i agree with him but who cares ? gary lockett is quite possibly the most dismal british boxer ever to get a title shot. still cant believe he fought in the same ring as pavlik to this day .

Speaking of Lockett, I'm watching that fight again right now and that first right hand that put Lockett on his knee in the second round is a showcase punch for Pavlik's power. The force of that thing is machine like. It made Lockett's head look like a double end bag. His neck bungied from the force - against it's will.

It is. That is Gary Lockett we are talking about. Against good to semi good fighters he's put a pounding on opponents before the ref jumps in.

Gary Lockett is hardly a shining beacon of light is he?

A typical Sports Network WBU fraud who padded his record and got a freebie of the (cough) Warren Boxing Organisation.

The WBC, IBF & WBA rankings aren't perfect, and neither are those of the IBO and Boxrec, but most intelligent sources placed Gary around the 40 mark.

He was nowhere near the top 10 P4P in the UK - somewhere below the likes of Jamie Moore, Carl Johanneson, Rendall Munroe & Dean Francis.

Have our American friends heard of any of those?

    Thought not :rofl

I like Lockett. Reading a recent interview with him, he seems like he knows he was limited to a certain level & has done well for himself because of boxing. The sport gave him an opportunity to make money. I think he's invested it wisely.

However, against Pavlik, it was a case of a man against a boy, simple as that really. He was not in Pavlik's league & would have never reached anywhere near the level required to beat Pavlik.
