Taylor isnt as fast as Calzaghe, he may hit harder but hes not half as skilled and hes very easy to hit. Pavlik is a big, slow and clumsy fighter who hits hard, that doesnt work against A level fighters like Calzaghe. Calzaghe late TKO or UD (120-108, 120-108, 120-108 ):hi:

I'll be damn. OK, free pass by me to discuss the match-up by anyone. I had taken the stance with some of the posts that Pav had never called Cal out. But my loyalty remains with Pavlik if it goes down. I'm die hard team Pavlik, and I will admit Joe C. is one of the best fighters I've ever seen.

Its a stylistic nightmare for Pavlik. He's not good at being on the back foot, has a shaky chin, doesnt have the adaptability to cope with someone as awkward as Calzaghe who would boss him all night, gets hit with so many shots for a supposed "elite" level fighter its untrue, no movement, the worst footwork of any champion period, struggled with Taylors handspeed which is in no way faster than Calzaghe's. Calzaghe also has the chin to take Pavlik's shots.

Seriously guys, im not a Pavlik hater but im saying he's overated in the way that he's no where near Calzaghe's level as of yet. It would be suicide putting him in there with him at this point.

This fight will never happen. Slappy Joe is afraid of Ghosts! However, he did call Kelly out after the Taylor fight, so who knows. It would be a multi-million dollar pay day for both fighters, and the biggest PPV in '08, so maybe Joe will decide that it's worth the risk. I sure hope so because Joe has NOTHING in his arsenal to keep Pavlik off of of him. He's fast, and he's slick, but Calzaghe is not the man to take Pavlik's zero. He simply does not have the strength or the punching power. Add to that the fact that Joe is the smaller man, he's a southpaw, and Kelly has one of the best right hand leads in the business, and you get a typical Pavlik fight; Kelly comes from behind to score another brutal KO. He would knock joe out the same way he knocked out the last 5 guys all the experts said he would loose to.

Please note that befoer the 7 round the fight should of been scored even. With an exception of the second round. The only reason Taylor was abel to Knock down Pavilik was because Kelly was toying with Taylor after that round Taylor didn't even come close to hurting Pavilik. Yes Kelly Pavilik has a very good chance of beating Joe Calzaghe. Since his last two fights no one first gave him a chance against Edison Miranda, andJermaine Taylor as well. a fighter with simalare athletic ability and hand speed as Calzaghe. However it will be a more difficult fight for Kelly Pavillik Due to Calzaghe's trickier style of fighting:lol:

First off, I fail to see why Calzaghe, likely a fight or two to go before retirement, would sign a match with Pavlik. What is there to gain? Calzaghe cleaned out the 168 lbs division, its high time now, at 35 and on the verge of leaving a legacy, to go after a "big" name like Hopkins.

BTW, has the real-world become too boring? I mean who cares really if Pavlik or for that matter even Pacman on a 30-day high-protein diet would or would not kayo Calzaghe? These fights will not materialize anyway. :-(

Yes, he would. He's a lot smarter than JT, so maybe one or two rounds longer.

Agreed Joe is definitly harder to hit than Jermain but it would'nt take to long before Kelly figured Joe out. I'm sure Kelly and Jack already got a gameplan worked out. Just another day at the office for Kelly. I'll give Joe 2 more rds to survive than Taylor so Pavlik Kos Joe rd 9. Cheers mates:good
