Well, obviously if 38 year old versions of each fought each other, Vitali would win. But the point I was making was: Ali was shot by that age because of the toll his style in the 70s had taken on him. He'd accomplished more than any boxer could ever dream of by that age, and the repercussions were physically evident for all to see. So of course Ali would look much worse at the same age.

This last fight against Gomes is indicative and an example of one thing: Both Klits will be remembered as rulers of a worthless division full of mediocre fighters who in former decades would be nothing more than gatekeepers not contenders. Klits will be and should be nothing more then footnotes in heavyweight's storied history because they will never be tested by a great fighter. Vitaly was tested by a slightly post prime Lewis and he fell short. No other notable tests came their way. Legends are defined by their battles and who they have conquered.
