Yeah... because cuts make the opponent better?:think Have you never seen a fighter win with a cut before? Yes... Vitali had a awful cut(s). However he was still winning. We can argue this every day, but nothing is going to change. Lewis got the win due to a cut, but he was losing the fight. That doesn't make Lewis the better fighter... it makes Lewis the technical winner of that bout.

    Lewis was winning the fight.

He worked himself into a position where his opponent could no longer continue, even if Lewis was losing rounds in doing so.

Just like Herbie Hide was the technical winner of his bout with VITLAY.

Tony Tubbs was the technical winner when he fought Tyson too, as I recall. :hi:

Actually Lewis was LOSING the fight on all scorecards 4 rounds to 2. Also, Vitali was perfectly willing and able to continue. It was the doctor's decision to stop it, and that is a judgment call on his part. That doesn't mean that Vitali couldn't continue. Had Vitali or his corner stopped the fight then you might have a point... but Vitali was actually furious with the stoppage and perfectly willing to continue.

Let´s just stop that discussion. No one can say what would have happened without the cuts, but the cuts were there and by punches. Vitali was ahead on the official scorecards but that doesn´t matter because he lost due to an injury. Props to Lewis for the fight.

...but he should have given Vitali a rematch. He didn´t so thats the end of the story...

Were those fights stopped on cuts? If yes, then you have a point. If no... then once again you made another post that means absolutely nothing.

VITLAY only ACTED furious once the fight was stopped, he didn't protest at all in the corner when they told him it was being stopped. He only had his stuttering hissy ***** fit once he knew Lewis wasn't going to hit him any more :yep

It's funny how Lewis fans brag so much about him winning his rematches and "beating every man that he has ever faced".... as they bash on other fighters for not getting and winning rematches against people who beat them. Yet, they fail to mention the fact that Lewis refused to give rematches against fighters that he beat, even when they were well deserved. Mercer and Vitali for example. It's not really something to brag about when the people he beat were willing to get back into the ring with him, but he wasn't willing to do the same.

They were stopped due to injuries sustained from punches, just like the VITLAY/Lewis fight. It's in the rules you know ;)

    Lewis was winning the fight.

The scorecards after 6 rounds - irrelevant.

Vitali's mangled face after 6 rounds - relevant.

    Hence Lewis was winning.
