I think that's about his best weight, he seemed weak at 236, he's always going to look fat because of how ballooned he gets, 240 is fine, if he is in shape.
He was 236 in his last two fights, I'd say he's been pretty consistent. He's where he's most effective. When he fights Wlad next year that's where he'll want to be.
even when he was 236 he was unhealthy because he starved and dehydrated himself there. dude needs a proper nutritionist.
And he always will, that's what happens when you get to 350 between fights, that's what he has to avoid doing. If he's in shape its fine, the guts or extra skin is still gonna be there.
If it's a fit 240, that's fine. The dude has thick ass legs and will never have a six pack. Of course, if it's jiggly, I take all that back.
People in general don't change, he has always been undisciplined, if he couldn't get into decent shape when challenging for a world title then there is little hope for him now.
Even at 235 Arreola was noticeably flabby. I get that's "who he is" and all, and he doesn't need to lift weights if that doesn't help him. Still there's no way that extra weight wouldn't have an impact in a 12 round fight. I hope I'm wrong but I fear we may have already seen the best of Arreola. Prove me wrong Chris!
This weight thing at HW is overrated, did you see how horribly Toney looked cutting down to 200? Losing weight did not help him one bit. Expect Arreola and Solis to perform roughly the same between 230 and 250, lower the weight the faster but weaker they are, higher and they punch harder with some speed sacrifice. Neither's gonna be a cut 220lbs nor that should help them beat the big boys. 240 is fine.
Comparing this to Toney is misleading. He is a 43 year old who lost 58 lbs +! Any fighter who trains well and stays fit will see the benefits, there's a reason why all the best HWs of yester-year were in much better shape.
