I agree. Hes been in better physical shape in his last 2 but there was no explosiveness and he seemed weak.

Lets see how sloppy that 240 is first.

Toney had no balance and that flab slowed him down.
**** Arreola. I was a fan but 240 ? Its bs. He should be a solid 220 or a few pound over.

Lets face it, Arreola is what he is, he's never gonna be 220. He's a brawler, a straight forward fighter that can't deal with movement or boxers. That's what he is, that's what brought him to where he is and he can still make for entertaining fights with guys who are willing to mix it up. Anybody with movement will give him fits all night. He might as well be 250 and get his power back as he has looked weak at 236. His legs always look like **** if he has to start chasing. Adamek and Vitali can move and he lost. He claimed Vitali ran like a *****, truth is he just got outboxed and Arreola wants to brawl. That's how they should match him. Wlad will have an easy day with Arreola and he will get frustrated and probably stopped again. He needs a fight more like Helenius or Povetkin even who don't quite have the discipline as of yet to stay out of heavy exchanges and move to frustrate the plodding Arreola who's legs always look shot to me.

OK...................all joking aside.......Arreola is a good fighter. Tons of heart, decent power, excellent beard, and above average endurance.

He's a Bclass fight ATM b/c of his lack of desire IMO. We all know he will barrel through or outclass most Clevel guys like Butler, Quezada etc......but to move forward he needs to accept or challenge other Blevel guys.

He's been beaten fairly thoroughly by an Alevel CW, Adamek, and an Alevel HW Vitali, and in his head if he can't beat an Alevel CW, he's gonna get burned by another Alevel HW. Wlad, Helenius, Haye.

So either his mgmt sees his best opportunity as awaiting a Potvetkin fight, and therefore he must duck all other Blevel fights, soas he can gain confidence by carrying a fake title and get a few more decent paydays vs the Bclass challengers or he he's hoping a mandate vs Wladimir will get him a bigger paycheck since he's going to lose anyway.

I can understand that he doesn't want to be a gatekeeper, but there are better fights to be had. Winnable confidence building fights. Guys he can beat, make decent loot against, raise him to a higher level. Of course that comes with some risk.

Can he stay in relatively decent enough shape while staying busy vs the Cclass guys awaiting his mandate to fall into his lap? Can he focus and become determined enough to climb the ladder and go to the next level?

Still up in the air........but continuously ducking other Blevel guys while awaiting an eliminator for Potvetkin is getting old and he's hemorrhaging fans. He was so very promising for his fanbase 5 yrs ago. How large will that fanbase be if he continues to fight Cclass guys while ducking Blevels like Holyfield, el Nino, Welliver, Mitchell etc? It might be another year before the Potvetkin fight, and will a win over an ancient Rahman and 6,7,8 Clevel guys be enough to give him the confidence he needs to beat Sasha while AP continues to stroll through the Bclass?

I guess we'll catch another GLIMPSE of his ability vs Butler, but we are certain NOT to see his full potential until he steps into the Bclass and take on another fellow contender. Will it be Rahman, Holyfield, Welliver? Who knows......but to get to Potvetkin he has to go through the Rock, a very winnable fight, but not likely to wins fans over as he seeks to fight for a paper strap and take the easy way to contention.:tired

Who cares? He's not 250-260 anymore. Look at Jean Mormeck. Ripped as hell, but bad stamina.

Arreola's weight is only a distraction for his real problems as a fighter.

Arreola is not a genuine heavyweight, as others have mentioned he is in reality a cruiserweight who has simply eaten his way out of his natural weight division.

He looks fine when he has a stationary opponent who will stand right in front of him to be hit. But against any decent boxer, his lack of skills, mobility and defence will be sorely exposed.

So his lack of discipline as a fighter is only a small part of his problems, if he loses too much weight he will get over powered when trading with a genuine heavyweight puncher, if he gains too much weight he will be too slow and cumbersome to beat any decent boxer at heavyweight.

Arreola's neck and legs look pretty big to me. Muscle is often concealed underneath fat. So obvious, but people like you have an agenda. He's always fit and in fighting shape, so what does it matter?

FWIW, a lot of the world's strongest men look fatter than Arreola.

His team is a joke then. someone like Arreola should be eating almost every 2 hours in order to keep his natural anabolic state in order. That's ****ing embarrassing to hear that he eats 1 or 2 times a day.

and in training camp he cooks his own food, on the barbecue :patsch

i remember a radio interview with him and his coach, they were training with Ronnie Shielda and his conditioning coach Brian Caldwell (whom in my opinion is as good as ariza), anyway they didn't want to shell out the extra expenses for another trainer and a conditioning coach.
