Yeah, who the hell is that guy who calls him self "Sugar," I think he's called Shane something. atschatschatschatsch
It has been mentionec that he has not fought in a year and he seems pretty open with his weight class and wants to fight the very best where ever he can. He defiently deserves to be mentioned with Pac and Mayweather though.
must be the only one who likes Gomez! always has a go. difficulty with this division is that the top 2/3 are so much better than the rest. compared to say the smw where depth goes down to 9/10. but the top couple arent as strong as welterweight. really liked gomez in contender, 3 good wins - plus he has a great name!
I do like him, I really do! But he is just a gatekeeper for the division and only has Karass and Manfredo Jr on his record and neither of them are top 10 material so I don't see how Gomez can be ranked 7th.
So the IBF Champion is 4 Places lower then a man who's only beaten domestic level opponents. What a joke...but that's boxrec for ya. Brook Gomez would be a very good fight for him and i'd fancy him to beat Gomez.
That's not actually that bad Ovill is definately way too high, but I would say Danny is about right Light Heavyweight stinks terrible division. BoxRec Rankings are dodgy but I find it funny how often they are used by media as actual rankings.
But, the BoxRec rankings, mad as they are, are at least based on measurable criteria. The problem comes that they rate each win equally rather than assessing opponent's qaulity and ability at the time of the win or loss. The concept of divisional rankings is entirely subjective unless everyone is fighting everyone else and you rate them on their respective performances.
The criteria are published on the site. Which isn't working for me at the minute, so I can't have a butchers. Something I've always though of doing in my spare time is to devise a ratings system then trying to get hold of Boxrec's results DB and run it through, see where I get to.
