Would just be a regular cable fight if it was made.

Honestly I admit half the reason I wouldnt mind seeing this, is to see how well TR and Roc can work together and what type of undercard they put on.

Roc/TR could put on a pretty good overall card if they tried, I really want to see how they handle it.

Op is just a showtime fanboy. Sad that networks have fans now. Wtf. I seen the crew joking with Ramirez n ward about a future fight...that's it. Hard not to mention it as a possibility with both guys sitting there both active fighters in the same weight class.

Ward should be fighting the very best opponents available, like James DeGale, George Groves, Andre Dirrell. Those guys have already proven they're good fighters.

Why is Ward picking on young prospects? Maybe because he knows they're not as good as they might look?

Ward didn't even do anything, it was Lampley who was going on about it.

Exactly. No reason to think its "next". But HBO would be dumb not to start talking up their prospect-contenders for potential fights down the road.

I am honestly puzzled as to why this became a thread.

If Ramirez wins another fight or two, maybe three - he might well get a shot at the champ his network happens to showcase. Ok, and?

Having Ward back in the ring is a good thing. Glad to hear this

Good fight. If Ward is fighting 3 times a year then fights like this will look good on his record along with fights against other top 10 fighters.

Yeah, because Ward is known for fighting bad fighters...

Well yeah, it's only a good fight if he stays active and starts taking on decent fighters on a regular basis, there's no defending his activity in the last few years.

Despite the BS he occasionally spewed about being able to fight (which was probably for legal/litigation reasons) its clear Ward has not been able to land fights.

Now that his issues are cleared up and he is the crown jewel of a deep pocketed promoter, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He deserves a chance to put his issues behind him I think.

No problem with that fight. Ward is rusty and would be fighting someone top10-top15 in his division, I don't see any problem.

2012: drained to fukk Dawson was set up by Shaw/HBO ("They told me to say that", Nov 2012 quote in response to a fan asking about the 168 clause). Not a true quality opponent, the win is tainted.

2013: Rodriguez was a Ramirez type of contender, he looked like sh!t in his last fight. Nothing spectacular here, just a decent opponent for Ward.

    2014:

2015: Truax, Sartison or Edwards. If Ward is that good, he should NOT have to take tune-ups like those guys... let's see who he fights this year.

My point remains, Ward is known for fighting top fighters and doesnt take easy fights.

Abraham, Froch, Bika, Dawson, Kessler, Rodriguez.

You can twist it all you want, but no, hes not known for fighting bad fighters.

And didnt Rodriguez win his last fight by KO1...Im not sure exactly how bad he could have looked!
