Cotto destroyed him twice....he just fought stupidly the 2nd half of the first fight....got sucked into fighting with machismo ....otherwise the first fight would have gone like the 2nd......margarito doesnt do anything well except take punches and have some good stamina

 

Freddie said when he talked Margarato's sparring partners back in the day, many said Margarato hit like a complete girl and some said he like a ton of bricks. People keep propogating this myth that because Margarito was coming forward faster that somehow it equates to him doing more, when in fact all that happened was that he ate more leather. Margarito was completely dominated in that fight. Cotto was never gonna knock him out, as Margarito really could take a beating, as has been proven over and over again.

 

Anyone who thinks margarito was coming on late in the 2nd fight and got a bad stoppage is an idiot.., plain and simple

 

Margarito LEGITIMATELY beat Cotto's a$$ & best of all Cotto knows I The Pink Fairy was getting ready to quit in the rematch as Margarito beat his chest. The coward ran from a rematch till he knew Margarito's eye was permanently damaged. In that fight he targeted that eye illegally lacing it every chance he got but STILL couldn't stop Margarito coming
