Reason why they mad, is that cotto was being built up as the guy who could beat floyd, the problem they had was convincing cotto of that notion. If Cotto was with anyone other than top rank he would have got schooled for 12 rounds against floyd in that ring and they would have been hyping someone else as the man to beat mayweather.
