I have said this from the beginning and will always believe this. If you are easy to hit, you ain't beating Floyd. He is too good at taking his opponents advantages away from them while at the same time exploiting their weakness.

You have got to have some minor defensive ability to stand a chance. Oscar defense in his fight with Floyd doesn't get mentioned much but I was impressed with how he was able to block quite a few of Floyd punches. Too bad he forgot to return fire with EFFECTIVE aggression. I feel Cotto even had a chance because his defense was pretty decent. Too bad for him he rather slug it out than box. I was never that impressed with Paul. The first thing I thought after I watch him fight was "that guy gets hit way to much for someone so tall." I never once thought he had what it took to beat Floyd. Same as Cotto or Margarito. I would have still loved to see those fights but I ain't losing any sleep over it either.

Prime Williams is a legitimate threat to anyone at 147 and 154, quite possibly at 160 as well today (or a few years ago). He could very well have beaten Mayweather and was a horrible matchup for Floyd. Due to Mayweather not wanting the fight we will never know.

They claim Mayweather is the king of fantasy fights. Yet when he faces a guy like Victor Ortiz they label it a tune up. If Mayweather fights you there is a built in excuse. If Mayweather doesn't fight you he is ducking you. Nothing Mayweather ever has to over come is ever mentioned though.

    Pre Mosley fight
"Mayweather was forced to fight Mosley", "Why hasn't Mayweather signed the contract yet", "Mayweather gonna fake an injury to get out of the fight".

    Post Mosley fight
"Mosley was to old", "Mosley over trained", "Mosley gassed out in the 2nd"

Mayweather fought and beat Williams they would say Quintana exposed him already and Martinez beat him more soundly. Mayweather was picking on Williams after he was coming off a loss to Quintana or he was just coming off a war with Margarito. Williams was weight drained. Williams was a C-level fighter which diminishes Mayweathers win over him.

This is off topic but why would Martinez even want to fight Wiilliams for a 3rd time right now. He has nothing to gain off that fight. Martinez should look to fight the Cotto-Margarito winner

Big name, rubber match, easy pay day. Why wouldn't he want to fight him?

Kind of like all the people that wanted Pac to fight Berto.
And at the end of the day Floyd is the one who said he wanted the winner of the PWill fight at that time.

Even in hindsight, Williams was still dangerous to Mayweather in 2008, otherwise he would've fought him period. That's why he chose not to because when Williams finally lost like all fighters who fight the most dangerous opponents do, now Mayweather automatically gets the mythical victory that never happened over Willams. Just like now people act as if Floyd has beaten Willams, Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito just because they aren't on the winning end. Well neither is Castillo and in my book, he beat Floyd. Saying Floyd can beat anyone he refuses to fight is meanignless. That's why there are boxing matches, so that you can prove you can and since he hasn't done that, he hasn't proved that he can beat Cotto, Williams, Pacquiao, Clottey, Martinez and Margarito.

Castillo was easy to hit, ask Corales and he beat Floyd on many people's accounts.

Once again, another fight Floyd fans claim is a win, by simply not fighting a fighter and waiting for him to lose to somebody else.

Therefore, he was "not worthy" of fighting Floyd.

I have no idea whether Williams would have beaten Floyd 3 years ago, but this fight is irrelevant to that.
