Wrong dead wrong! Cotto isn't a elite defensive counter-puncher he's more of a boxer puncher that can pressure. Can he counter-punch yes but he certaintly isn't an elite counter-puncher nor can he do it like PBF and his defense is average at best. He didn't tie up Margo to break up his rhythm or clinch when he was hurt which was a rookie mistake. PBF would tie Margo up and put that elbow in his throat all night to create space.:yep

Fair enough about the Zab fight. This was round 2 right? I haven't seen it from a good angle, again his hand probably touched the canvas as he was off-balance, he clearly wasn't on the floor or hurt though.

About the Hoya fight. The split was bull**** imo. I think Floyd won clearly. He wasn't actually in trouble from the pressure imo, he was just caused a few problems by the jab, which is what Oscar used to get through to round 7, and a few crappy combinations to the body.

Number 4. Cotto is a guy with admittedly, as much as I like him, a shaky chin, and he can be caught. While he's a good boxer-puncher type, his ring smart on not on the level that Floyd's is, and he's certainly not as good a boxer either, there a great composite puncher. Floyd's defensive is impecable, and his chin has held up on the few occassions he has been caught, such as the Castillo fight.

I don't believe Margo hits harder than a prime Castillo on a p4p scale, I think at best you can put them on par, which I would.

With Margarito's poor skills he can hope one big punch could end it and I just can't see Margarito ending it with one punch. It will be extremely difficult to defeat Mayweather with **** poor skills, extremely slow predictable punches. To top them all, the man can't even cut off the ring well enough and his stalk tactic will only lead him to punching air. Of course he will corner Mayweather here and there but it won't be enough to win him rounds considering the amount of punches Mayweather will OBVIOUSLY land with Margarito's poor defense.

An elite counter puncher with poor defense, did you see the way Cotto leands down and welcomes Margarito ALREADY MENTIONED AND CLEAR best punch, the uppercut. Which lead to his downfall, there's no way in hell Mayweather will stand there and allow Margarito to land his punches. Margarito doesn't even have good speed to help him catch Mayweather who will be constantly moving.

He doesn't have to be a big southpaw to beat Margarito.

Exactly and that's what these people fail to understand. Margo for the most part will be punching at air and his workrate will drop as well as his connect % which will be around 20% like everyone else who fights PBF. Margo isn't a dangerous one shot KO puncher he's an accumalation puncher who wears you down he won't land enough on PBF to do it. When is the last time you've seen PBF hit with a 3 or 4 shot punch combo? You can't because it doesn't happen. He's considered the hardest fighter in the sport to hit clean and for good reason.

Stylistically it makes sense and based on the fact that Cotto who is a good boxer had so much success early on with Marg I wouldn't be laughing so quickly at these kinds of statments. Marg is tough as nails but he's not the most polished or most adaptable boxer around. Unlike Cotto.....Floyd can and will box for 12 rounds risking very little to pull out a UD.

    Agree
And Margo is way bigger than JLC.Relentless pressure very great stamina stonger eat's you in the later round's and also throw's punches from all angles no matter where they hit almost all the punches he throw's are with a lot of power and wont stop coming very great chin.BTW Cotto punches didn't back off Margo from coming(Cotto is a lot stonger than pbf)So he will have a hell of a night IF pbf fight's him.
