    Of course its rarer in the elite,but still exists.Michael Spinks was elite,but he still feared Tyson for example.
    If Floyd was forced to fight Margo,of course he wouldnt jump out of the ring screaming or take a dive;He would be focused and try his best to win;
    But(and its a BIG but) he fears making the match in the first place.
    Its a different form of fear.You dont NEED to make the fight anyway if you dont fancy it,so you dont.
    Many fighters in the past have not been in such a comfortable position to make that decision,and thus have still got in there anyway.

    ?? based on his style floyd is a nightmare for Margarito just like Cotto is a nightmare for Floyd.

    Floyd has immense foot and hand speed and probably the best stamina of all the fighters currently. styles make fights and floyd would run, pot shot, run, pot shot, run and margarito would'nt catch him on the ropes because floyd is never flat-footed. I also believe floyd would lose to cotto because cotto is a boxer-puncher with decent hand speed and power, because of his style cotto would be able to hit floyd with regularity and with authority which is simply why I believe not only could Cotto beat Floyd but also stop him

    Cotto in my opinion can beat any welterweight out there excluding Antonio Margarito and Joshua Clottey(the verdict is still out on Berto)

    Agreed, but I'd add Paul Williams' name, he could give Cotto problems with his size and punch volume.

    Can't really say how a Cotto-PBF fight would go, but it would be sooo interesting for sure. I have my doubts about Cotto stopping Floyd, but he would have a good chance for the win. I say the odds would be 51-49 for PBF on that one.

    As for a possible PBF-Margo fight... this fight couldn't be close imo. Either PBF manages to slip all of Margo's power shots and cruises to a near shutout, or Margo catches him late and gives him the beating of his career. Having said that, Floyd would also be a slight favourite in this one as well.

    Everybody has fear, whenever you step in that ring. Tyson had fear. A professional fighter puts it aside and does his job, the fear you feel isn't important, it's how you react to it.

    If any of you gutless wonders who like to call fighters cowards on a message board (so brave!) had ever been in the ring, you would know that. Anyone who calls a fighter a coward deserves no respect whatsoever.

    I'm not a Floyd fan, but I AM a boxing fan, so I can tell you that Floyd fought Genaro Hernandez when Genaro was still a monster. He fought Chico Corrales, who will be in the HOF and he made it look easy. He fought JLC twice and made it look easy the second time. He's beaten a whole host of elite fighters: Ricky Hatton, Mitchell, DLH, Zab, Chavez, Carlos Hernandez, Manfredy, Juuko and most of the time these excellent fighters were reduced to **** victims. So he's beaten at least three HOF fighters, maybe four, with three of them being in their prime.

    You might not like PBF, but there is absolutely no question of his status as a fighter unless you're a complete and total boxing idiot. My question has to be what satisfaction does it give you people to come on an anonymous msg board and try to sound tough by slagging off people who are PROVEN courageous, who've accomplished 10x more in their chosen field than you ever will in yours? Does it make you feel good, puff your chest out?

    I don't like Aaron Pryor, I don't like Duran, but I don't make posts calling them cowards or saying they never achieved anything. That's because I'm a BOXING fan and I give respect where it's earned, whether I personally like them or not. Just frustrating watching these ***** made comments go by from Saturday night armchair warriors with a personality problem.

    //end rant

    One of the best posts in ESB history it should be sticked and put into a quote everytime someone posts.:good :clap::clap: :clap:
    I couldn't agree more with it. I'm not a fan of Oscar or Margo but you don't see me making 10 threads a day bashing them and calling them trash and cowards. Some of these people are sick and lead pathetic lives. Not to mention never had the courage to ever get into the ring themselves.

    The problem of Mayweather is he once took the stance that if Arum wanted to make Floyd vs. Margarito, he'd do it in a snap just show me the money. Then when the career high payday was offered all the sudden, Floyd got cold feet. His bluff was called. After calling Margarito a bum, D level, he'd punish him, FLoyd started making excuse after excuse. But it was annoying to Margarito fans how FLoyd tried to denigrate and diminish Margarito while the truth was he was afraid to take the chance to fight him. Three times Arum offered the $8 million for summer 06 and finally August, but Floyd kept on stalling. Finally Baldomir beat Gatti and they honed in on that lame duck for Nov. Money May could have whupped D level Margarito in Aug and then Baldomir in Nov for double the money, and also whooped on Arum's meal ticket.

    It's pretty damn clear he ducked Margarito and lied to the public. Defrauded the public to think he was too good for Margarito but deep down he knew he'd get busted up. When you learn someone has lied to your face, it's an insult. So the natural reaction is to insult the liar. Tell them the truth to their face. Only possible medium for boxing fans to do it is by print in a place like this. There is resentment because FLoyd cheated the sport out of some major events of the best vs. the best. THis hurt the sport overall. Hence part of the reason for MMA's growth.

    Floyd is a proven liar. We know he fears the concept of getting in the ring to fight Margarito. It is 1,000% crystal clear. When Floyd goes and retires so as not to fight Margarito, despite whatever the proven liars supposed reasons are for retiring, it's a move of cowardice - compared to the actions of warriors like Hoyyfield, Lewis, Hopkins, Duran, etc.

    Until Floyd mans up and fights the one EVERYONE wants to see him fight, he is behaving like a coward. Plain and simple. It's okay though, most everyone has fears. Floyd does too. No big deal. The thing is, if FLoyd took his beatdown like a man, got knocked out and showed class after, he would gain so much more respect. Also he is the type of person who needs to be humbled. It would be the best thing for him, a blessing in disguise. All the money in the world cant buy respect. By fighting Margarito, a man he clearly respects, win or lose, he would gain more respect from boxing fans the world over.

    "I gained more in losing than I ever did in victory. Tell them that losing was the making of me." who said it? Jack Dempsey
