Team Martinez wanted the fight because that was Martinez belt. Chavez was reluctant until the WBC ordered it. atsch
Lee and Kirkland sound like exciting, decent fights while waiting for Quillin, or Martinez. GGG stops both early though. Neither guy has the movement to deal with GGG. That said, I as everyone else, is eagerly waiting for those bigger fights to happen later this year. It's a big disappointment if Golovkin doesn't fight Quillin or Martinez in 2014. Sturm, Geale and Murray are good fights but they are not the ones fans are salivating for.
Nothing wrong with a Kirkland fight over Geale, Lee, or Rubio. People complain, but fighting JMW's is standard work for a top MW. After Hopkins, Taylor fought three in a row with Spinks, Ouma, Wright. Both Hopkins & Hagler's biggest wins at MW were against JMW's. James brings as much challenge to GGG as the other options. Loeffler's latest interview states Martinez & Quillin are the goals for 2014. A high profile fight with Kirkland at MSG in April could lead to a Quillin fight in late summer/early fall at Barclays.
The great 154lbs' killer won't fight a middleweight. James Kirkland is next, you all know this for a fact. And also, inb4 flashy *** and Beouche legitimizes Kirkland as an opponent for GGG, saying Kirkland is basically Hagler reincarnate.
You're OK with Lee and Kirkland You GG fans sure have the bar set low for your idol. He has enough padding on his meager resume as it is.
Jesus give it a rest already. GGG must've ****ed your GF sister and mom hard your hate for him is out of this world atsch
kirkland is the best fight and the only one with a chance to beat ggg from all the names mentioned on this thread.
