With the size of Lopez's mouthpiece biting would be impossible and it really doesnt look like he even attempts to either. And there was not the slightest reaction from Salido I think if someone is trying to bite your neck you would react a little.

 

It was a great fight, but some of his actions have taken away from his brave effort.

you are confusing Floyd with a fighter named Bernard. Besides floyds elbow were used for defensive purposes while Juanmas elbow were used for offence in the Salido fight.

You ever stop to think why he gets away with it, though? It's because he's SUBTLE about it. It's because he's using his elbows to keep opponents at range exactly where he wants them. He isn't really using them to inflict damage, which is a lot more conspicuous. (which makes them no less illegal, but that distinction does need to be made...)

Lopez was elbowing Salido blatantly, and it was out of frustration and a clear attempt to strike him with additional blows supplemental to his fists.
