people are still saying it and having hissy fits with those who argue. Canelo needs to fight at a catch weight before he fights at 175 again
I'm sure he would want to avoid him because beterbiev would try to talk to him and ask him how life is and bore him to death. "canelo tell me my friend which are best salad dressing"
Anyone else get the suspicion that the OP would be a much bigger Canelo fan had it been Pacquiao instead of Mayweather that beat him?
Now that Canelo lost and Beterbiev looked unbeatable against Joe Smith, now we're gonna hear about how Artur would destroy Canelo and people will give Canelo no chance. That makes me wanna see it even more and see Canelo prove everybody wrong. Then if Canelo wins they'll say Canelo aged Artur out. That's a scenario I'd want to see play out. Give Artur another year or so to age, then feed him to Canelo when no one thinks Canelo has a chance.
From Canelo's perspective, he would want to wait until Bivol and Beterbiev fight, to fight for Undisputed. Lets face it, beating Bivol in a rematch at 175 is not going to be easy for Canelo, he might think he has a better chance against Artur, if his chin holds up. If Bob blocks Bivol Beterbiev from happening, then maybe Bob would be more willing to make Canelo Beterbiev. We all want Bivol vs Beterbiev, but if that doesn't happen, I wouldn't be against Canelo fighting Beterbiev. It's a big risk of course, but Canelo has nothing to lose really. What's another loss at 175? Dare to be great again, if he really wants to challenge himself again at 175, I think most fans would be more interested in Canelo Beterbiev than a rematch against Bivol. I still would want to see the rematch against Bivol, but I think I want to see him fight Artur even more now because he has more to gain. He was favored to beat Bivol and disappointed. Against Beterbiev, he'd be a heavy underdog and people would give him no chance, so there's more to gain there. More belts, more people being proved wrong. And easier to make Undisputed with Bivol if he dethrones Artur.
That's exactly why I want to see him fight Artur. Because no one will give him a chance. Everyone will say he'll get knocked out, so he can't disappoint, he can only prove people wrong. And if he wins, he'll get a lot of praise. If he loses, he'll get credit for taking that challenge.
Bro, give it up. Canelo would lose badly. He couldn't even box against Bivol. Do you really think he can avoid the power shots of Beterbiev? Beterbiev eliminated Smith's jab with ease. He stepped back, circled around and reset Smith. Then as soon as Smith was setting up, Beterbiev found the gap and attacked and hurt. Also, he HURT Smith 5 times in 2 rounds tonight. Just think about that Rd1 "Slip" Rd1 going BACKWARDS R2 going BACKWARDS R2 on the ropes Stoppage - two small uppercuts with about 2 seconds to set the up If there's a firefight against Canelo in there, hand on heart, what do you think happens? Canelo only fights in spurts and he's not strong enough to push anyone back at 175lbs.
It was fair for Canelo to test the light heavyweight waters with less destructive forces than Beterbiev in faded Kovalev and Bivol. Now he knows what's up. Taking over 175 is a bridge too far. Better to just stick at 168 after Golovkin III and look for the likes of Benavidez and Charlo.
His struggles against Bivol has really nothing to do with his chances against Beterbiev. If his chin holds up, if he doesn't get cuaght with a big shot, then he'll have a better shot at winning a decision against Beterbiev than Bivol, and maybe he could even catch Artur with something big. Who else is gonna really test Artur's chin? Bivol? Most consider Bivol a light puncher so if we want to see Artur in with someone with skills and can punch, put him in there with Canelo. Ask yourself this, who has a better chin than Canelo? Who has heavier hands, and a better chance at actually hurting Beterbiev, Bivol or Canelo? Yes Bivol has a better chance to outbox Beterbiev, but Canelo doesn't need to be as technical as Bivol does, because he's a bigger puncher. I'm not saying I favor Canelo at 175, lets not get it twisted, but I do want to see them fight. You need to get it out of your mind that I care about whether he wins or loses. He's already lost twice, I'd rather him take the biggest risks possible. If he loses he loses, but it's definitely a fight that I want to see. Of course I want to see Bivol Beterbiev more, but if that doesn't happen, bring on Canelo Beterbiev. Ask yourself, if Bob blocks Bivol Beterbiev, who would you rather see Artur fight? Besides Bivol, who else is a bigger or a more entertaining fight for Beterbiev? I wouldn't be against Canelo Beterbiev at all, as a fan I want to see him take on the best. But I know how dangerous of a fight that is obviously and you'd have to favor Beterbiev. I think Canelo is better as an underdog anyway. Against Bivol he was favored to win and we saw what happened. It's been a long time since he's been an underdog where he has a chance to prove people wrong.
I was the FIRST person on this site to call for a Beterbiev-Canelo fight. I knew then exactly how it would go and my opinion has not changed. I'm 1000% a Beterbiev fanboy and know his limitations but Canelo is not the one to do it. If Canelo wants another crack at 175lb glory, Beterbiev is there. Just don't make absurd demands, pay the man fairly and make it happen.
After that performance do you honestly think Canelo looks at it and goes. I have a good chance there. Canelo will avoid the Beterbiev fight for sure. He also won’t want Bivol fighting Beterbiev before he gets his chance at the rematch. Let see how brave Bivol is too. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bivol doesn’t take the Beterbiev fight either.
