Povetkin is obviously way past his best but judging off his last performance he's still one of the best HWs in the world and is currently ranked #7 by The Ring. Granted, Allen is finally taking the sport more seriously and seems to have whipped himself into the best shape of his life for Price but that's still a huge leap up in class for him and a foolish needless risk for him to take, especially given how badly his career has already been mismanaged up until this point. He only had 10 amateur fights and he was 9-0-1 when he was thrown in with a 17-0 Dillian Whyte and then in his very next outing they threw him in with a 26-0 Luis Ortiz. And Allen was only 13-3-1 when he was matched with Tony Yoka as well. So in his 21st fight ever (am and pro) Allen fought Dillian Whyte In his 22nd he fought Luis Ortiz In his 29th he fought Tony Yoka In his 33rd he fought Lucas Browne And he fought David Price in his 34th and should he emerge victorious tonight they're going to throw him in with Povetkin in his 35th fight ever. BTW, I didn't realize the size difference between Allen and Price was as much as it is. I think Price is wearing shoes there and Allen isn't but even taking that into consideration this looks like a match up between a leprechaun and a giant. Surprisingly there's only about a stone difference between them in weight though. This content is protected
Not at all, just saying that Pov is a natural step up from a victory over Pricey. Also, who is to say Ortiz would be too much for Allen 2.0 in late 2020 after a good slapping from Windmilder...
