Lol. So wait a minute here. Canelo is supposedly this elite, pound for pound number one fighter, but he can’t make any adjustments at all, even with a lol, trainer of the year in his corner? This is a joke post or a for real post?

 

I thought the same thing, Bivol has a toughness and mental strength I didn’t know he possessed. I’ve watched him against Richards and Bivol was very hittable. Bivol had defense he hasn’t shown in other fights. It was a very tight and disciplined performance.
I don’t know what else Canelo could have predicted or planned for. I’d train him to do exactly the same again, maybe focus on the body with feints setting it up?

 

It’s almost as if you have no idea that there are different styles in boxing?

What do you mean by 'type of fight'?

I sometimes wonder if people use this kind of description to express their overall view of the fight but this is not arrived at via round-by-round scoring, as it should be. So a competitive fight is a '7-5' and a lopsided one '10-2' and these conclusions are awarded without actually scoring individual rounds. It's a simple way of describing the nature of a contest rather than an actual reflection of who won which rounds.

By this measure, because Canelo was to some extent competitive throughout the entire 12 rounds, you could say it was a '8-4 type of fight' but each time I score the rounds properly it always ends up 10-2...

 

Excellent post. Glad someone knows what they're watching. Casuals like @kiwi_boxer don't know what they're watching, he carries a lot of hate for Canelo because of what Canelo did to GGG, he lost a lot of $$ betting on GGG and he's still really bitter about that lol. He also uses compubox to score rounds which is really sad. Glad you talked some sense into him, he obviously needs a lot of help. The rematch will be very interesting, at 168 or 175 Canelo can do better next time if he paces himself better, improves his gas tank, mixes in the jab a bit more, maintains his defense throughout the 12 rounds, and it could be a much better performance. He was doing well in the early rounds, if he could continue the success he had in rounds 1-4 he has a great chance but it won't be easy. After that experience, Canelo can learn a lot from what happend, the good and the bad, he knows what he needs to work on in the gym to prepare better for next time. Bivol is a tremendous fighter and deserves a lot of credit for how well he fought. Can't wait to see how all this plays out.

Well, let's hope he will fight Loma next (if Loma will ever fight again) and he will be schooled just like Canelo, but stopped mid to late rounds.

I was rooting for GGG vs Canelo, now for Bivol.Canelo lose these fights, but what Ryan is doing it's low.He writes Alvarez's name with small letter, pretending to be so insulted (for nothing)..that's childish.Ryan has not achieved even 10% of what Canelo did and already acts like he's God on earth.Fake, childish boy.
