I was happy to see Canelo lose but Ryan needs to STFU and focus on his career. His honesty in assessing the fight was refreshing and funny but he’s at a different stage in his career and I hope he focuses on improving his boxing skills. Canelo, for all of his faults and the corruption that surrounds him, is a VERY accomplished boxer who has achieved a level of success Ryan will never get close to. Very few fighters will ever achieve Canelo’s commercial success.

I do appreciate the fact that so many boxing fans and fighters are rolling their eyes at the ridiculous scorecards in the Canelo fight. They saw the same fight that I did, a total domination and boxing lesson. Really hope we get a rematch at 168 so Canelo can lose his belts to Bivol. That would be one of the most gratifying wins of the decade.

That's interesting because in another topic @exocet76 is telling me that the only round he found close was round 4 and that 1-3 weren't competitive. Do you see the problem here? No one can seem to agree on which of these rounds are fair to score to Canelo and which aren't. One person says 4, but not 1-3, another person says 2, but not 1, 3 and 4. Some say 3 and 4 but not 1 and 2, etc.

Why can't we just all agree that the first 4 rounds were close, competitive and hard to score?

The reason there are differing opinions senator , is because they are speaking their minds rather than reading out pre filled in scoring cards set before them next to the brown envelope....

Differing opinions, very good, I am all for that. What I am against is for people who claim that close rounds in which there are differing opinions over can only be scored against Canelo, not for him. We should embrace differing opinions rather than frown upon it. No one has a monopoly on how to score a boxing match. We should all be able to recognize how close and competitive the first 4 rounds were and we should be more accepting of the full spectrum of possible scores in these rounds.

Yes but that's false though. Go through the RBR it's pretty clear that people have it Bivol for the first 4 with some giving Canelo round 4.
It's not like what I'm saying is outragous it isn't. It's just you want to reframe it so that it makes the dight appear closer than it was.
I've explained consistently that it isn't that hard to score as Bivol is outlanding AND doing the cleaner work. I can't give a round to Canelo just because he get's 2-3 uppercuts in if he's being tagged with jabs and flurries the rest of the round. That just isn't how I score regardless of whose fighting and who I want to win.

As you brought up Monopoly etc , how did you explain the identical score cards covering 1-2-3-4 rds ? Hmm?...

I'm not saying you're wrong exo. I'm just saying you're too rigid in your scoring. It's obvious that plenty of people find 1-3 competitive, but you cannot bring yourself to admit they were. It's not just 2-3 uppercuts, those were very tight rounds outside of the uppercuts. Bivol was busier but he wasn't landing clean. Both fighters were blocking well in those rounds. It seems that you're trying to pretend like those rounds weren't close in order to perpetuate a myth that the judges gave Canelo a 4 round head start which I find to be an outrageous claim. The reality is that Canelo did well in each of those rounds and landed the uppercuts which were the best punches in those rounds. The judges noticed those and gave him those rounds because of it. I don't believe in judging conspiracies like you do.

Really! We can all agree that Canelo did not sweep the 1st 4 rounds. At first I gave Canelo the 2nd. Reading another person's post, they stated that the 2nd was a clear round for Bivol. So I get what you are saying. And I see what you are trying to do. Because people cannot agree on which rounds Canlo won, it's possible he won the 1st 4 rounds. Anyone that knows boxing and isn't biased knows Canelo lost at least 3 of the 1st 4 rounds.

I''m glad you accept I'm not wrong.
Again I'm not rigid in my scoring. If I scored it 11-1 and say that I can see a 9-3 then I think I'm being reasonable especially when I can't see how any other rounds can be given.
Like the flat earth thread your speaking as if we are both in a vacuum we're not....
How can they be tight rounds when he is getting handliy outlanded with clean punches?
It bears no relation to reality.
It's the same argument used in the GGG fights. If Canelo gets off 4-5 flashy punches then that magically wins him the round. I'm sorry the round is 3 minutes. Yes I understand that cleaner work can be judged better than pure volume but that isn't the case in this fight.
Bivol was throwing a lot more and they were landing cleanly and far more often.
So I cannot give rounds were Canelo has 5-10 seconds if success and getting tagged the rest of the time.
Well my "conspiracy" is based on a long line of corruption in judging on Canelo fights.
This is where you are dishonest because you will not even acknowledge that poor judging has happened in the past.

I'm not trying to do anything other than to tell it like it is!! You're contradicting yourself here. On the one hand you say that you get that since no one agrees, it's possible to say that he won the 1st 4 rounds, then you turn around and say we know he lost 3 of the 1st 4 rounds. Those 2 statements are in conflict with one another. Since no one agrees on which rounds he won or lost out of the first 4, the full spectrum of scores over those rounds should be acceptable. But for some reason you can't accept anyone scoring all or even more than 1 of those rounds to Canelo. That's nonsensical, and it highlights an agenda againt Canelo to limit the amount of rounds that he can win in order to object to the judges scores which were reasonable.

Also you've admitted here to having your score of round 2 influenced by "Reading another person's post, they stated that the 2nd was a clear round for Bivol" which I suspected. So you're being brainwashed by Canelo haters to score more rounds against him than you did originally. It's a sad state of affairs, fortunately I'm not biased against Canelo or invested in producing one sided scores in order to feign phony outrage. There's nothing wrong with scoring any or all of those first 4 rounds to Canelo because he did well in those rounds, landed the harder shots and blocked most of Bivol's shots. This is not hard to see or understand, it's just that certain posters are heavily biased against Canelo and score angry with emotion because they like to cry about the judges.

Your math doesn't make sense. If you say you can see 9-3 then obviously you can see giving at least 1 more round to Canelo than you previously admitted to. If you give Canelo round 4 and/or round 9, which I'm guessing you did, but you think that rounds 1-3 weren't competitive, then how can you see 9-3? You need to think that at least one of rounds 1-3 were competitive to "see" 9-3 and you've made it clear that you don't. So your logic isn't adding up.
He wasn't getting "handliy outlanded with clean punches" in those rounds. That's a myth. Bivol was busier but wasn't landing many clean punches, and as we know Canelo landed the heavier harder shots in those rounds. We can go round and round like this forever but you, like in the flat earth thread, continue to misrepresent the objective reality in order to support your views. Bivol did not handily outland Canelo in those rounds, you can say that the earth is a globe because you believe it but that doesn't mean it is. You can make up whatever nonsense you want about what you say happened in a round, and state it as fact, but it doesn't make it so. Plenty of people scored each of those rounds to Canelo and the vast majority aside from the Canelo haters recognize those were close competitive rounds.
There you go, cleaner punching can be judged better than pure volume, very good, that's what happened here. Not just cleaner but harder and more "effective" shots. Remember rounds are judged not just by cleaner work but also by more effective work. Canelo had the more effective work in those rounds, because he landed harder with more oomph on his shots. It close rounds that makes the difference. You may disagree with that, which is fine, but disagreeing with that and not accepting that are two different things. You can disagree all you want, but you have taken it one step further and believe it's unacceptable to score those rounds to Canelo which is patently absurd.
This is a point of contention. You are misrepresenting the quality of Bivol's work in those rounds. He was not landing as clean as you make it seem nor was he landing as effectively as Canelo. Yes he was busier but busier doesn't mean better.
You are suffering from expectation bias and confirmation bias my friend. Same with the globe. Everything you see is viewed through a prism of expectation based on past experience and beliefs, so you have become embolden to see things that aren't there in order to fit what happened into your narrative and belief structure. I don't go into a fight with that kind of bias. Unlike you, I don't believe in judging conspiracies. I had no problem with how the judges scored the Canelo GGG fights and have no problem with how they scored Canelo Bivol. You and many others though have their pants on fire every time a Canelo fight goes to decision and that's irrational. You're trying to create controversy where there is none, but I understand that it's part of your coping mechanism. I'm just trying to break you out of your trance and show you that there's no funny business going on here and the judges scores were nothing to complain about.
