Atlas has a glass heart, when Cus wanted to Teddy to fight some good boxers in the goldern gloves he discovered his sore back, along with his glass heart.

Why does't he get in the ring with these cowards? , or step in the ring at all?

What you said is 100% true, Atlas did back out of fighting in Golden Gloves with a back ache that appeared and disappeared, depending on when Cus wanted him to fight. People from those times know of it, newspeople he is buddies with don't report it.

Tessitore talks about HUnter like he's so lucky to train guys that make him look so good, and if only Teddy could get such fighters. Teddy then goes on to talk about how none of the fighters nowadays have heart. He was seemingly directing his displeasure towards Potvetkin with that jab......but I thought it was Sauerland that Teddy was pissed at.:-(
