Don't get me wrong... it was a decent fight but...

Kiko The Midget couldn't even believe he was standing in the ring with Max Kellerman. He was going nuts because Michael Buffer said his name during the introduction. :patsch

Who's next? Butterbean vs. Kimbo Slice?

Its in the interests of boxing to have the networks doing well. I don't understand how people **** on Boxnation and now lately its been all anti-HBO. Ok, Showtime are doing well which is great but HBO have lots of good fights too, Barker - Geale was great. Its like people here want to see HBO fail

It's great that HBO is showing new fighters to build up but lets not act like this is some noble thing HBO is doing for the better of the sport.

The fighters they are showing now used to be on ESPN2/EPix/NBCsports network. I find it funny that people are acting like they are stepping up their game by getting some of these fights. They broke off with GB so now they have to scavenge around and pay for fighters who a couple years ago wouldn't be anywhere near HBO.

The truth is SHO has taken over as the premiere Boxing channel and HBO is taking what it can get, Top Rank is really weak compared to GB. They can't alone keep HBO with fresh fights so they will keep getting obscure fighters on their network.

Like it much better when they were showing Berto on a continuous loop like he was something special.

Lower weights (154-) SHO/GBP is best.

Higher weights (160+) HBO/TR is best.

HBO/TR are investing in new talent at the lower weights which may pay dividends in the next coupla years. SHO might be advised to look at the heavier weights, but seem to have a winning formula at the moment.

It's funny how Lou Dibella the former executive for HBO Sports gets a pass for having his former colleagues get him all those Berto dates.

When people talk about how Golden Boy was doing HBO dirty they bring up Berto, yet the only fight they promoted Berto on HBO was against Guerrero.

Who are the fighters TR has at +160?

Lets be honest the Top Rank stable is very thin.

They have signed some good prospects but that's still a few years away from bearing fruit.

Nah, you're right, TR themselves don't have much to shout about, but I was just lumping the 2 together as a matter of course. HBO tend to have a more global outlook and have been more willing to work with the European promoters such as K2, F War.ren and Sauerland.

DiBella and Main events also will work with HBO when they want to get their heavier fighters shown.

SHO just seem to focus on the American continetal scene, US, Mexico and South America, but the few GBP fighters at MW and above seem to be pretty much sidelined, cos all the other names at 160+ seem to be on HBO. Hopkins is, of course, the glaring exception to this but even in that case there is issues - for instance B-Hop vs Kovalev will be problematic due to the broadcaster rivalry.

Yes because it was so great when they were putting on uncompetitive fights with GBP/Haymon fighters and forcing Glass Jawed Frauds like Ortiz, Kirkland, and Berto down our throats and telling us we had to like them
