lol Tszyu V Chavez

    I just watched this fight. Wonderfully intense. Chavez put on and old school dirty fighting performance, complete with glove lacing, headbutting and countless low blows. Tszyu humored him for a while and then decided to adopt a 'take no ****' attitude and started throwing Chavez around the ring and slugging it out just for the fun of it.

    Anyway, Paulie Malignaggi, observe Chavez in this fight, that is how you go out like a man - eating left hooks and spitting at your oponent :deal

    Anyway, Chavez did well for a 38 yo. I think Chavez in his prime is the worst matchup for Tszyu possible. With Chavez' ring strength, hard punching, granite chin and endurance and Tszyu's propensity to be drawn into slugging matches and stamina issues, Chavez would be like a terminator and would grind Tszyu down and beat him to a pulp.

    Would be great while it lasted though.

    I think we need to use the fighters DNA to make clones that we can train and thrown in the ring together. :yep

    chavez finished with 6 losses, i didn't hear any criticism about that, and yet you people really digged into tszyu's 2 losses

    Not a very good way to look at it.

    You have to look at the context of those losses.

    Tszyu was beaten in his prime by a fighter of the calibre of Vince Phillips.
    The same can not be said of Chavez who's first loss on his record was a SD when it was pretty well accepted he was starting to fade and his first actual loss was out of his best weight against a fighter the calibre of Pernell Whitaker.

    JCC also had a lot more fights.

    more fights? tszyu had 261 amateur fights

    JCC never won medals at the international level in the amateurs, where as Tszyu was very successful in both amatuer and pro

    In my opinion I reckon Tszyu by a close but clear margin as the superior champion

    Tszyu gets too much credit for this win when DLH fought the same JCC and gets absoultely no credit at all

    Joe could have used Tszyu's eastern bloc boxing education - At least Tszyu learnt how to punh without breaking his hands!

    Tszyu's amatuer career is storied, he was fighting 28 year olds in his mid teens - His amatuer career is NOTHING to sneeze at.

    i think tszyu would have still won no matter when they fought. tszyu is underrated imo.
