I agree with alot of what you said, but Whyte's never been close to being a world class kickboxer, but the inside fighting point you made is very valid. The gulf between national, or euro level KB to true world class is massive, especially at HW division more than any other.
For a fight that people are dismissing I bet there would be alot of interest in it, if it is happen. Whyte would be arguable as Wilders best opponent
chisora beat him and his a shell helenius just got a gift to a journeyman so is shot and brown was a fat mess that was a open target and it's took him sometime to get rid of a fighter that hasn't even trained by the looks of it welders resume is much better lol the ortiz win alone trashers all over whytes
The joke of it is, is that you are comparing a world champs resume, who has 40 fights and several world title fights to a 23 fight fighter who hasnt had a title shot. They should be poles apart but they are not massively massively far apart. I wouldnt have argued Chisora getting the decision. It was a close fight. With Brown. Brown was an undefeated big punching former HW champ. You say Ortiz win alone is better. But why? Who did Ortiz beat as good as Chagaev who Brown beat? Answer is nobody. Or what top HWs did he beat not coming off a recent loss? I dont think Brown would have gone the distance with Scott at that respective time
I believe it's a real possibility, Hearn has mentioned in the past agreeing a "side purse" with a fighter and bidding low so Wilder might not be sitting on a any sort of decent payday. Hearn will not be doing Team Wilder many favours now, I believe he would make a deal, he will be civil and sensible but Wilder and the rest of them have said and demanded too many things Also, why would Hearn give Wilder huge exposure and a platform now? Their demands are ridiculous as it is, can you imagine what they'd ask for if they got multi millions for fighting Whyte in front of a huge crowd in the UK. Also what is being sort of ignored is when Hearn offered that large payday to Wilder, Whyte wasn't mandatory, so Hearn had to pay over the odds. Whyte is mandatory now so Hearn hasn't got to "persuade" Wilder with cash, it can go to purse bids and it could expose Team Wilders financial state.
That is also a very interesting post. You are right in that if Whyte/Wilder doesnt make big numbers. Wilder would struggle more in what he wants for the Joshua fight. I do think that fight would do well in the UK market (Whyte/Wilder) as in the UK, Wilder is reasonably known with working with the Sky team and Whyte seems to be getting more popular (I like watching Whyte box). I dont know but dont think it would do well in the US and if it does do well in the UK alot of that, possibly most of it would be due to Whyte I think and not Wilder. In the UK fans would like to see Whyte or another British HW get a title fight whereas if it wasnt a fighter from the UK probably wouldnt do as well. If you know what I mean?
I would like to see Whyte vs Wilder for the WBC title. I dont think Wilder is overly interested. I felt he seemed concerned about how he would be compared, which I agree doesnt mean everything. I felt he seemed a bit agitated but this was a while back This content is protected Interesting interview with Whyte This content is protected
The HW division is pure garbage. Five of the Ring magazine's top 10 are just big unskilled lumps (granted AJ does have some skills even though one could be mistaken for confusing him with a black Herman Munster) who look up the sport late, and 4 of those 5 did so after transitioning from other sports. This is why towering glass-jawed plumbers from Liverpool manage to convince themselves they can still make it to the top even though they've been stopped x 5, 3 of which being savage out cold KO loses, and their ass and back has visited the canvas more times than an artist's brush.
Wilder has always avoided prime, decent heavyweights like Whyte. The only prime-aged boxers he might fight would be slow fat guys who are easy to hit like Adam Kownacki.
