Lol @ Yarde's chin! So MMA fighters still get called "glass jawed"?

Yarde took so many flush shots from an elite level knock out artist, and wasn’t even wobbled. He has atleast a B grade chin for me.

However accumulation of punches is a factor, and it was the accumulation of flush shots he took and tiredness that caused the clean KO

He'd been hit by countless jabs before that one. Why didn't those jabs stop him, then?

I can see the cogs turning.....

That was not your average jab my friend. The volume on my tv was on low, and I still heard a distinct "pop" when Kov's jab made Yarde's head and neck move in a most unnatural way.If that jab had been measured it would surely be in the high 700's if not 800+.

It was the cumulative effect of a ton of jabs and some hard right hands thrown in for good measure. His chin actually held up well. Granted Kovalev is way past his best and clearly isn't hitting like the Krusher of old anymore but he still hits hard when he sits down on his shots. The Kovalev who brutalised iron-jawed warriors like Pascal and Cleverly was a completely different animal and that Krusher's shots were absolutely savage. Yarde was able to roll and take the sting out a lot of the right hands as well which enabled him to hang in there longer. But there's nothing wrong with his chin. It reminded me of the Benn vs Watson KO or rather the Watson vs Benn one.

It's embarrasing for this forum that we have to read a question like this one here. Tbh. Punches add up, they are acumulative. Let me reformulate your question, so that you can realize how embarrasing your question is...

    Man, think about it.

Nothing in that fight that made me question his chin.

He took some great shots and kept coming

Being knocked down when you can barely stand does not mean you have a poor chin, it means you need a better gas tank.

 Yeah, go spar 10 rounds to the point you can barely even throw punches, then eat a hard jab and come back to us.

I cant say i've heard many people say MMA fighters have glass jaws compared to boxers tbh, apart from maybe a few boxing fans who dislike and don't know anything about MMA.
It's just part of the silly debate which sport is better that has intensified since just before Mayweather v Mcgregor, with no evidence to back up this and the other laughable comparisons and It's just a shame that some feel the need to insult and try to belittle the other sport because they dislike and are unable to appreciate the skills of the fighters for what ever reason
