    I like this thread.

Let me ad a few things.

As mentioned above Lolenga Mock just won a hard 10 round battle with Roman Shkarupa Saturday in Copenhagen (99-91, 99-92, 96-94).

Roman Shkarupa, a rather inactive fighter as of lately but physically stong and solid, was the guy, who was robbed in Rome, when he fought Giovanni De Carolis four years ago. The referee deducted him a point halfway, and when Shkarupa dropped De Carolis, it was ruled a slip by the Italian referee. It ended with a split decision win for De Carolis.

Anyway, most of the fighters from the fight card in Copenhagen either spend Sunday travelling home and simply relaxing, taking care of their bruises etc. Or they simply stayed inside to avoid the current blistering storm, that is running through the country.

    Lolenga Mock didn’t do that.

Early Sunday morning, only a few hours after his fight, he was seen running and doing his road work in one of the many parks of Copenhagen.

That tells you everything you need to know about this guy.

I talked to him once, where he explained his secret about being so strong at this age.

He never drinks and smokes. He spends time with his family and goes to bed early. And even in times of inactivity in the ring, he does his exercise and goes to the gym every day.

He hates machines, lifting weights and scientific training methods. Everything you do in the training, should resonate with what you can do in nature.

In his Danish hometown of Aarhus he is the mentor of two new fighters, Jeppe Morell and Jonas Madsen, both light heavyweights, who had practically no amateur background. Jonas Madsen turned pro with only 8 amateur bouts, but Lolenga Mock discovered him and taught him the craft in Champs Camp gym in Aarhus and convinced his promotor to sign both fighters, and now 22 year old Madsen is one of the most promising prospects in Danish boxing.

Lolenga Mock himself was basically brought to Denmark as an opponent in a few bouts against much larger Danish fighters in 2000 and 2002. He was a natural super middleweight and fought against two local cruiserweights (Jesper Kristiansen and Lasse Johansen) and lost on points.

In the David Haye fight, Haye had a huge advantage at the weigh-in and Mock stuffed himself with food and water and even stuffed his pockets just to be approved to fight in the cruiserweight division. Everyone from the British Board of Boxing Control knew what was going on, but didn’t interfere.

He met a small boxing manager in Denmark, Henrik Risum, but later signed with Danish Hall of Fame promotor Mogens Palle, when he knocked out Palles young Swedish light heavyweigh prospect Giovanni Alvarez in 2004.

During those years, all the way up to 2010, he also worked as a useful sparring partner for Mikkel Kessler, because he was one of the only one, who could really put on pressure against Kessler.

Even though Mock is not a devastating puncher, he at least once pressured Kessler to place a knee to the canvas in one of those grueling sessions.

Two notes about the Erik Skoglund fight in 2013.

Erik Skoglund proved himself in that fight by effectively outjabbing Mock in most of the rounds. But have in mind, that this bout was contested in the light heavyweigh division. Lolenga Mock is a natural superweight fighter, and in his current 10 fight winning streak he has exclusively fought in super middleweight.

Interestingly when Lolenga Mock knocked down Erik Skoglund in the third round, the referee was very quick to save Skoglund, who was flailing in the ropes. The referee pushed Mock, who thereby misplaced the potential last devastating punch of that fight by centimeters. Legally there was nothing wrong with this quick maneuver from the referee. But after that the referee also made an incredible late and slow counting, and Skoglund basically got almost 20 seconds to recover, which made it possible for him to survive the immediate attacks from Mock. I probably don’t have to mention that this specific fight was held on a Nordic Fight Night card promoted by Sauerland Event (Skoglunds promotor), while Mock was representing Sauerlands rival promotor Mogens Palle.

He has a few decent names in those last 10 wins, I bet they all came to win too.
I think Chudinov will be the best of this streak tbh, and can't really see him beating the night wolf.

45 years old but seems to be near his prime, pretty amazing

Surely there has to be some reason Chudinov's opposition (until now) since Eubank has been so horrid, though? Maybe he really is washed up at just 31. Wouldn't be the first time we saw a bright light extinguish on the early side. (especially following a lengthy amateur career, and he and his brother spent most of a decade touring around the globe and jumping through several weight classes - in Dmitry's case, at least 4 before he ever turned pro...)

I didn't realize this fight was in Denmark!
As you say Dmitry wasn't really a big Middleweight being at least his 4th weight jump, he must be really undersized @168. Mock is a very solid 168lber, the bloke obviously campaigned as high as cruiserweight and has still looked good dropping down even @ his current age.

Actually now that I think about all the above factors Chudinov will have to be @ his best to win this, maybe Mock is a deserved favourite. Home ground advantage will be huge given they both have granite chins.

According to official Russian news agencies (TASS etc.) Dmitri Chudinov has apparently parted ways with promotor Vlad Hrunov and doesn’t fight with a Russian licence anymore:

    Link 1: https://russian.rt.com/sport/news/446847-boks-licenciya-dmitrii-chudinov
    Link 2: http://www.oka.fm/new/read/social/Dmitrij-CHudinov-Supruga-gotova-menya-otpustit/

Vlad Hrunov, a man of influence, has apparently tried to destroy Dmitris career ever since, and in October he convinced WBC to drop Dmitri Chudinov from the top 15. He told WBC that he was still the promotor of both Dmitri and Fedor Chudinov and asked the rating panel to change the positions of the lower rated Fedor and Dmitri, who was number 7, even though none of them had fought the last three months.

Also check out the latest WBC ratings as of November. WBC is still rating fellow Danish fighter Patrick Nielsen higher than Lolenga Mock, even though Nielsen was just knocked out by John Ryder in October.

    Patrick Nielsen is #27
    Lolenga Mock is #29

Patrick Nielsen has had 2 bouts in the last 23 months. 1 win, 1 loss. 0 wins against top 100 opponents according to BoxRec.

Lolenga Mock has had 9 bouts in the last 23 months. 9 wins, 0 losses. 3 wins against top 100 opponents according to BoxRec.

But still the glorious World Boxing Council and it's funky rating panel rates Nielsen higher than Mock.

At least Lolenga Mock is getting some respect by the rating panel of Transnational Boxing Rankings, where he entered at number 10 two weeks ago: http://www.tbrb.org/all-rankings/

How do you see this as Dmitry Chudinovs 4th weight jump (at least)?

When he won the World Amateur Junior Championship in 2004 - knocking out Cuban Yornier Dorticos on his way to the final - he competed in the 75 kilo division.

The pro super middleweight limit is 76 kilo/167 pounds.

Chudinov weighed 164, when he made his pro debut in 2009. In his 5th fight he weighed 178 pounds.

Then he slimmed down in 2013 to pick up his first title.

I see him more as a natural super middleweighter, who managed and benefited from cutting dramatically down in weight to become a middleweighter between 2013-2015. You can do that for some time, but usually it gets more difficult, when you get older.

But he is definately not an undersized fighter making "at least his 4th weight jump".
