After outboxing him for the majority of the fight and making his ass frantically ask his pops for advice on what to do because he “Knew Everything he wuz Tryna do!!” Uhhh… YES! He’d like to have that same dork in there to close the show this time. You having trouble registering that or….
Loma had the chance to fight the guy for 12 rounds. He admits himself he took off the final round, giving it away. So if he wants to fight the guy so bad, why wouldn’t he fight him for the full 12 rounds while he had the chance? The stupidest thing in the world is wait til after the fight and say ‘I want to fight him again’ if you didn’t do everything you could when you had the chance.
After the press conference, he met with press in his locker room and said it. There’s video, which I have seen but can’t put my fingers on … he’s on a couch. Here’s an account of it. https://bloodyelbow.com/2023/05/21/lomachenko-tears-after-loss/
Loma didn't do enough to get a vegas decision. He should've known the 12th was imperative or if he did then he was too gassed to win it. Either way he can't complain he knows how boxing works and it won't change anytime soon. I had him winning by a round, and I'm a Loma fan. Imagine how the judges (who will always lean on the champ in a close fight) saw it. the 116-112 card was ridiculous though.
Hands down this was one of the best elite boxing matches we got this year. I can understand the demand for a rematch, of course I had Loma 115/113, and the money and views would top the first encounter. This is a WIN/WIN for both guys. Haney can demonstrate he is the best at 135 without questions or Loma can show he is still the most problematic boxer at 135. I would love for them to run it back and again I’m no certified judge and this was a very CLOSE fight. This was the best I’ve ever seen Haney and Loma showed flashes of his greatest skills from the past. If there is a Boxing GOD let him command this to be done before either guy faces another opponent
