loma being called p4p absurd? bias in boxing

    There's no doubt loma is up there now, but I see people calling him p4p 1, it's absolutely absurd, when he hasn't even avenged a salido loss, could he become p4p 1? absolutely, but the same fans now calling him this were the same one's saying rigo wasn't, when in truth at his best rigondeaux is a much better pure boxer and the better fighter

    Rigondeaux and a few channels, guys like mayweather are calling racism on p4p and on hbo, let's see how loma does vs guys like gamboa first and mikey garcia, and let's see him avenge his loss to salido first, salido could be able to beat loma again it could be a case of styles we'll have to see, but alot of this is exposing the bias in the sport, we now know kovalev is better than ward for me anyway, but why weren't they calling andre ward p4p 1 after beating champions like froch, dawson etc, is it loma's amateur experience people are judging on?

    Guys like Lara etc have great records and is one of the best and most skilled boxer's in the world, but guys like dan rafael hate on him and he never seems to get mentioned as p4p when he's top 5 at least no question, the whole loma thing is exposing alot of politics in boxing as far as the fans perceptions

    I think people saying he's p4p #1 are meaning that he's best skillswise.

    it also wasn't the most action packed fight walters vs lomac so fans using that as an excuse are talking nonsense to

    so now people have changed the criteria for p4p? i thought most people based it on resume and skill? now just skill? strange that just when loma is involved, and skill wise there's plenty of skilled boxer and rigo p4p is much more skilled and better defensively than loma

    I think Loma is p4p top 3, but people have been going a little overboard since he beat ATG Nicholas Walters!

    I couldn't care less what HBO think,hard to dislike someone like Lomo who only ever wants to fight the best instead of padding his record,Andre Ward whilst he got the decision blew it in the pound for pound stakes by wrestling and mauling his way to a win,not saying it wasn't deserved but the difference between Lomos pure boxing and Wards stink out the joint tactics are like chalk n cheese?

    All True, for me also kovalev is massively underrated as a boxer, people are now trying to twist it, but he outboxed ward from range

    Again, this is an American dominated boxing forum with more than 90% of the users from the US. Liberal America made everything they could to villanize Russians and most East Europeans. If someone on this board writes tht Loma is P4P #1, they do not talk about race because no sane American would favor an East European fighter to a Black American fighter because of racism, politics. It doesn't make sense.

    If people say Loma is the best active fighter right now, they talk about his skills, his talent. Same people say the same about GGG. They are two outstanding fighters, if someone doesn't see the talent and work ethics these men have, they do not know **** about boxing. If we talk about P4P, we talk about skills, aura, talent and the way they beat their opponents. That's why no one here sees Ward as P4P #1. He has the names on his resume, but he does not fight fan friendly, gets decisions and other stuff. Floyd was P4P for years because this guy beat the best and he had incredible skills. Maybe not as entertaining as others, but beautiful to watch.

    Leave race and politics out of boxing.

    based on what skill? then i can't understand how you can have rigo under 3, for me rigo is p4p1, all of a sudden everyone is changing their perception of p4p and how to assess it just when loma came along funny that

    Lomo is a bad MF and even if he takes on Salido you will say it was too late and Salido was too old and shot.....Mark my words....2017 Salido will be called shot, broken and old if Lomo takes him on next year.

    Not many boxers out there like Lomo who in his short career has took on the top guys and even gave in to do demands on the B sides to make the fights.
