Boxing kind of reminds me of politics. Imagine the things that could have been accomplished if people had just worked together in both cases. We're all getting screwed at the entrance level, I guess...
if they didnt **** around so much this wouldnt have been an issue...the softball game was probably scheduled a long time ago
Or Oscar could have just agreed to the initial time and not demanded ESPN move the fight time ahead/earlier.
I was watching a clip of Eddie Hearn describing how frustrating it was working with the Eubanks because Senior was fixated on making sure Barry McGuigan commentated his son’s match on Sky and Eddie couldn’t believe what he was hearing. I’m sure it’s incredibly frustrating lol
I’ve been underwhelmed with ESPN’s support of boxing. Case in point, ESPN switched to the Zurdo vs Hart barnburner in the 8th round.
Face it guys It breaks my heart to say it but boxing is a second rate sport these days. The casual sports fan put boxing on a par with pro wrestling. Who can really blame them when they see the blatant corruption in the sport
And THIS... is why... I hate boxing on ESPN. ESPN is a horrible network. I don't give a **** that they have more viewers than Showtime and HBO... they don't know a goddamn thing about boxing.
Bob won't make ESPN do ANYTHING. He has ZERO power over there, and boxing in general has zero power at ESPN. The NFL rules all at ESPN, so Bob better call Roger Goodell.
They need to go back to HBO or go to Showtime. I remember when I wanted to see a really good fight, but instead they showed women's volleyball. I also remember when one of the networks showed gold instead of a Roberto Duran championship fight, had to travel out of town to see it!
