yeah and Roy Jones Jr could have had more Legacy fights at heavyweight there were better fights to be made there, it doesn't mean he belonged there... weight divisions exist for a reason...
He doesn't have to drop back down, but it would be better for him as far as winning fights go. Lopez was significantly bigger, stronger and hit harder. He didn't just have small advantages in these categories. He was ridiculously stronger.
Lol, what? They didn't go down after after losing close fights. Lomachenko is cutting from 145lbs to get down to 135. Pac and Floyd basically weighed 147 naturally. Their trips to 154 were one time deals, they weren't campaigning at those weights. Dude, have more faith in Loma. He could potentially win a rematch.
No because they jumped up in weight for super fights and never campaigned at the weights. Floyd would jump up every now and then for big money fights but he didn't ever consider himself a 154 pounder. He'd give up the belts immediately. I honestly think Loma should stay at 35. More prestige in that class and I truly believe he has more left in the tank. He lost a close fight. He can avenge it down the road maybe.
Yall acting like loma got beat up and bullied last night he didn't. He's fine at 135 he was the ring champ there for a reason.
Losing comes with the territory when you are trying to challenge yourself. If anything, that should be respected. Mayweather's may be one of the few to have gone undefeated, but Pac, SRL, SRR, ODLH, Trinidad, etc. they all got beat going up in weight and I don't respect them any less. Even Mayweather had to dig deep against some of his challenges. That's what makes boxing interesting to see if they can overcome challenges. If fighters aren't challenging themselves it's boring to watch.
It's difficult to beat a guy who is far bigger, stronger and harder punching than you are. I'm not taking credit away from Lopez. I'm just stating facts. Lopez said before the fight that he was way too big and strong for Loma and would send him back down to 130. He made good on his words. He backed it up.
It has nothing to do with a rematch Lopez deserved the win Loma is too small for the division RJJ was too small for heavy and Floyd and Pac were too small to compete at 154 My simple observation is he is fighting in a division he is too small for.
Pac and Loma are the same size and Pac had major success even higher than 135. Loma is not a physically strong man, he doesn't punch hard, and he doesn't appear to want bite down on his mouthpiece and go in the trenches against a bigger stronger, harder punching man. Pac was smaller than Cotto, Cotto was stronger and Cotto hit harder than Pac too. But that didn't stop Pac from getting up into his grill.
People have been calling him Loma forever just like calling Wladamir, Wlad nothing wrong with it. or calling Pacqiao Pac....
But Loma is a phenomenal boxer whether you like him or not. Whether he won or lost. I actually saw Loma do good things against Teo. He didn't get mauled and knocked out. He held his own in my opinion and even had Teo clinching at one point. Just being a title holder isnt enough for Loma. He wants to be great. I honestly don't see him moving back down unless a big fight presents itself. Right now all the big fights are at 35.
Pac is a best and had the style and cajones to always bring the fight to them.. but yeah Lom isn't as strong as Pac you look at their weigh in pictures and you can see how massively different their builds are.
Agreed he wants to fight the best but if I was managing his career he would of moved back down to 130 after the first title fight when it comes to legacy nobody remembers you were always fighting against people naturally a lot bigger then you are the just look at w-l columns.
