Okay, let me start off by saying yes I am a Spence fan, but also a fan of the sport of boxing in general and I've noticed the praise that Spence is getting for beating Mikey! So my question would be why is Spence getting the huge praise for beating Mikey, but Loma got dogged for beating RIgo??? Both talented fighters in there own right believe it should be scored as a solid victory for both. Mikey did go 12 with Spence where as Loma made Rigo quit on the stool which is more impressive to you?
I haven't seen huge praise for Spence most are saying he beat a small guy hell i thought he would stop Mikey
Rigo was 38 years old, moving up 2 weight classes. He was way to small for Loma, way to old and undersized. Add to that Rigo was also very unactive. Don't get me wrong, Loma is a world class fighter who could very possibly go down as an ATG. Nevertheless, the Rigo win is far from his best when you really look at all the details.
After the first round, and watching the way the fight was going I was shocked Mikey made the distance!
it goes both ways for me they both get credit for out classing their opponent. Even if there were some concerns. Still good performance
I'd agree both did what they had to do in order to win and did so with ease! Rigo and Mikey didnt have to take the fight but they did!
Both should be praised for the wins and both would beat their opponents regardless of their size. The difference is Loma didn't use his size adventages at all and beat Rigo only with footwork, movements, timing, angles, so just skills while Spence's longer reach made it easier for him to control the fight with the jab. Also Rigo was a better pound for pound fighter however he was also older then Mikey. I personally rank Lomachenko's win a little bit higher, although both him and Errol were really impressive.
They both did exactly what they were supposed to. And to those giving **** to Spence for not getting the KO; well it's hard as **** to KO some so defensive.
Have you read what the mainstream media are saying? There making it seem like we are in a new era of boxing. The age of Spence. Because he decisioned Garcia.
You cant just "use" size. It just merely exists. Loma is naturally bigger than Rigo and that helps anybody.
