Rigo called Loma out numerous times before Loma decided to school him. He schooled and Rigo quit more from embarrassment than anything else. Mikey called out Spence numerous times before Spence took him serious and decided to totally dismantle his ass. Mikey didn't quit but the fight should have been stopped because not only did he get embarrassed, he got beat down thoroughly. Loma gets a pass and so does Spence because neither fighter asked for their fights but they did finish them. Spence more brutal than Loma.
Eh... havent really seen Spence get much praise, to be honest. However, I suppose if there was any difference between the two matchups, Rigo was old, while Mikey is at his peak, and Mikey went out of his way to seek this fight out. That being said though, again... I dont see a huge difference in reception between the two fights.
His knuckles were just swollen into one big knot on that hand for no reason then I guess. Size, and age, definitely had a lot to do with it as well. It's why less skilled fighters, who are Loma's size, like Linares, and Pedraza, gave Lomachenko a hard time. Loma is lucky that Rigondeaux is not his size.
You Loma ball gobbers are fairly insecure. Fact is that, while Rigo, and Mikey, had balls like Hopkins did, to move up two weight classes and fight the guy at the division, Loma seems a Eunuch. Stating Crawford is too big, and such foolishness. If you are scared say you're scared.
He is currently a unified lightweight world champion, having held the WBA (Super), WBO and Ring magazine titles since 2018, and previously the WBO featherweight and junior lightweight titles between 2014 and 2018.
Not jumping up two classes to make a fight isn't indicative of be scared. That's naive to suggest. What's the point anyway? It ONLY helps the smaller guy, IF he wins. We've had Kell brook versus 3G. 3G got little to no credit for the win. Canelo and Khan...same thing, Canelo little to no credit. Same w/ Loma and Rigo as well. That being said, neither Rigo ,Mikey, nor Hopkins took the level of opponents Loma did as early in his career. Do you think they were scared?
Photoshop and loads of cash can make anyone's knuckles look swollen amd knotted up. I mean, how did they get swollen amd knotted up to begin with? He didnt come close to landing a sIngle, clean, significant shot. I dont think he even tried to. I just kept seeing him hopelessly throwing hail mary's that didnt even come within feet of landing. I never said size didnt play a factor in the fight, how it played out, and the result. Of course it did. But Rigo still had at least one dimensional advantage on Loma, it it was one of the most significant ones a fighter can have -- reach. Mikey didn't not only hold zero advantages over Spence dimensionally/size-related, but most of the time he was at an even bigger disadvantage against Spence than Rigo was against Loma size wise. And ya, Rigo was 37 or 38 when he fought Loma, and inactive, but was in the gym daily and always has been during all of his inactive sprees. And im not saying he was still in his athletic prime, obviously he wasn't, but he wasnt far removed from it either. Look, Spence nor Loma entered the ring and stone cold walked down Rigo or Mikey due to their size advantage. But Spence used his size advantage more to his benefit in his fight with Mikey than Loma did against Rigo, but again, Spence outboxed Mikey, and the only dimensional advantage he consistently used to his benefit to beat Mikey all night was his reach advantage. That reach advantage, in conjunction with his significant edge in speed...... Mikey never had a chance, but nobody ever told him that and he never once thought that. He tried and tried to figure out a way to win all night. Thats what a warrior does. Spence and Loma didnt "body" Mikey or Rigo, outmuscle/overpower them or maul them, lean on and drain them in the clinch...... They straight up ounboxed them badly, but Spence relied far more on his dimensional advantages -- namely reach -- than Loma ever did, I mean ****, Rigo HAD THE REACH ADVANTAGE AGAINST Loma. Loma vs Rigo was a stone cold boxing lesson and Loma outclassed Rigo skills-wise by leagues and levels and miles and whatever else have you. Rigo was so outclassed by Loma skillwise I literally domt think he bothered utilizing a single offensive skill of his after the first round. I mean after round one, Rigo knew to his core he had NOTHING for Loma in terms of skills or fighting IQ or ring generalship that he made the decision right then that he was going to focus every bit of his attention, energy, effort, all his skills, and all his thinking for the rest of the fight towards not getting hit and consequently KO'd -- badly. Even if Rigo was naturally the same weight class and height as Loma and same age, he got humiliated to badly and outclassed so badly, that no matter what, prime for prime he would never have been able to hang with Loma unless the decks were so stacked in hia favor everywhere else. Then, maybe just then it might have been a competitive fight. Then again, he proved himself not a warrior against Loma -- e broke the code and quit -- o even with the whole deck stacked in his favor and it was competitive, I still HIGHLY DOUBT he wins or draws. He was a supremely gifted, talented, athletic specimen of a boxer and an intelligent one at that, but not a warrior. He proved that the one time he wasnt leagues above his opponent to the point he could do whatwver he wanted and his opponent couldnt threaten him, that when he was actually in a real dog fight and had to pass a gut Chdeck, that he was all set -- literally -- he wasnt willing in the slightest to fight for a victory the one time he couldnt just simply and easily box his way to victory. That's what separates Loma, Mikey, and Spence from Rigo, and what puts Rigo in the same category as Mike Tyson. Probably never again to be replicated gifts, but not a warrior. Maybe me tally weak is a little harsh a term for those two(even though IMO it fits them to a "T") but Rigo and Tyson weren't fighters and they sure as **** werent warriors. And in the grand scheme of things, that's more than OK. The whole world sits on a couch and analyzes countless numbers of their performances, and we have that right as fans because they are millionaire professional athletes. They just arent fighters and definitely not warriors. 95% of people analyzing and judging them aren't either, but unlike Rigo and Tyson, they live paycheck to paycheck.
I'm just trolling the Lomafanboys a bit. I don't expect everyone to have a set of nuts like that. The few that do, more power to them. More often then not it doesn't end well, when they go jump two weights and fight a top guy immediately. Spence would have done Loma worse than he did Garcia. Loma had six fights post amateur career that he was paid for, and fought under pro rules, scored under pro rules, and no head gear, when amateurs were still using head gear. Those my friend were non-amateur bouts. Loma's real record going into the Salido fight was 7-0. Rigondeaux's record going into the Cordoba fight, was 6-0. As far as Hopkins, and Garcia. I'm pretty sure that if Hopkins hadn't went to jail, and Bouie Fisher had him since he was a teen, giving him 400 amateur bouts, that Hopkins damn sure would have been able to fight whoever he wanted to by his 8th Professional bout.
The photo was from Top Rank's photography, no photo shop. As far as typing a novel over being a butthurt that Loma doesn't have those type of balls to move up and challenge Crawford or Spence, I'm not doing that. I'll just say Rigo is an old man, in boxing years. He was supposed to lose to a bigger guy in his prime. Same thing would happen to Loma if he moved up to face Prograis, Spence or Crawford. Only thing is that, Loma is in his prime, and not an old man.
Look man, I think you think for some reason I'm posting here with an agenda. I don't have one, I try to be objective as possible in my analysis and open minded as possible. I'll admit it's far harder for me to be impressed by EE fighters and become fans of them than I am American fighters, UK fighters, Mexican fighters, Puerto Rican fighters, etc. etc. I mean, ****, I'm a much bigger fan of Mikey Garcia and ESJ than I am Loma. Never once did I ever say that I'd bet any money on Loma or give him much of a shot at all if he moved up and fought Spence or Crawford. Of course he'd get his ass kicked. But the size disparity between Loma and ESJ or Loma and Crawford is WAY bigger than the size disparity between he and Rigo. WAY BIGGER. I mean, Mikey is WAY bigger than Loma and would probably stretch him if they fought at 135. 140 -- if you're being objective and not hating -- is clearly more than a step too far for Loma. He has NO BUSINESS fighting at 140. But I will say this: he is so great and so talented and so athletic and fast that it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he put one on Prograis, and badly. I'm a fan of Prograis, he and Taylor are my two favorite fighters at 140, but even at 140 I think Loma has a much better chance of beating Prograis, maybe even badly, than he does against Mikey at 135. TBH, even if Loma didn't add any weight and fought Prograis at 140 and came in way below the limit, I think he would make a total fool of Prograis and doubt Prograis would come close to barely glancing a shot off Loma's glove in guard. IMO Loma is stupid wrong for Prograis. So watch what you wish for. As for his chances against ESJ or Crawford, that's just hater type hypothetical speculation. Of course he'd get worked by them. I get the feeling that you aren't so much a fan of boxing, but rather a fan hopeful of seeing Loma get his ass kicked. Bro, just go to sleep at night peacefully knowing Loma ain't dumb enough to jump up and challenge ESJ or Crawford at WW and get stretched.
What about Gerry Cooney, Tommy Morrison, Gene Tunney, Angel Manfredy, Micky Ward and Oscar Dela Hoya? They all got much love! Better watch your bubbling lips before you start spouting out nonsense! LOL
