Loma: nothing to gain against Pac

Should he fight Pac?

  1. Yes, good win to have on your resume

  2. No, aim for a unification or move up.

Of course he would. He already has an amazing background, a great professional start, and with a name like Pacquiao on his resume fought on a huge platform, it would do wonders for his career.

ODLH is the Golden Goose, he touched Mayweather and Pacquiao who were the biggest cash cows of their eras, Mayweather touched Alvarez who is now the biggest cash cow in boxing, and if Pacquiao who was touched by the Golden one touches Loma, Loma is sure to have a HUGE boost in popularity.

    Pacquiao's last 36 rounds:
    • Dropped Bradley 2X and dominated dat azz
    • Dropped Vargas 1X and dominated dat azz
    • Almost KO'd a super middleweight sized Horn and was robbed
Pac's old and shot, but he's still a dangerous ass dude. So much so that Danny and Adrien said hell no to a $4 million dollar beatdown. His workrate and stamina is down, but the speed, power, and angles are still lethal. Pac really only needs to land flush 2-3X and the fight swings heavily in his favor.

I respect Loma and his team wanting to challenge current world champions and prime fighters. But from a career perspective the PAC fight is a dream come true for a boxer trying to bolster his popularity.

Maybe he doesn’t care about being popular? Maybe Loma is really a boxer who only cares about his legacy? If that’s the case there’s still an upside to fighting PAC. The challenges he has getting big name boxers with the kind of resumes he wants to give his resume and legacy validation would be more inclined to fight him if he is generating the kind of revenue that would make him worth the risk.

Right now, because he’s viewed as too much risk for not enough money a lot of the champions are steering clear of any path that has Lomachenko blocking the way. Beating Manny would definitely look great on his resume but also help his stock. ....making it easier for him to secure more meaningful fights down the line

Pac at this point of his career doesn’t have as much pull as Oscar did at the time. The horn, Vargas and Bradley fights didn’t do stellar numbers.

It will definitely boost lomas name but I don’t expect him to be a house hold name from it.

Economy of times. It's different now. Floyd was doing poor numbers w/ Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana, and Berto.

Canelo did poor numbers w/ Khan and Smith. GGG and Chavez Jr. sold well. But even for the biggest stars, successful PPV numbers are the exception, not the norm.

Adjusted for the market, Pac is still boxing's biggest draw or he's second to Canelo (who leverages his Mexican-ness and Mexican holidays).

super middle weight horn? Lool where do you come up with this stuff, that was a cherry pick that went wrong. Randall Bailey also dropped this ‘super middleweight’ lmao, watch how Crawford does this ‘SMW’ he is gunna box circles around him.

Not sure why you're so negative about the match up, but we'll just agree to disagree. I stand by my point that if Loma fought and beat the faded legend his popularity would increase immensely.

    PAC breaks Loma’s eye socket.

Ok maybe not, but if he finds Loma’s chin it could be night night. Otherwise Loma coasts through a comfortable UD.

Who has Randall bailey knocked down noteworthy in the past few years? Come on do you think Bailey would knock down Spence, Thurman or Crawford or even pac?

Negative? Lool I said it’s best fight Loma could make for his career right now except maybe a Garcia or a unification fight. How am I negative just because I don’t think he will be a superstar from beating pac. Marquez didn’t turn into one when he put Pac to sleep nor did Bradley or Bradley with their wins over pac.

I blame JMMs lack of stardom soley on Bob Arum. He hated JMM for making Pacquiao look beatable.

Remember how Arum offered JMM less money than Morales for the Pacquiao rematch.
Remember how many years in between it took Arum to make the rematches between JMM and Pac.
Remember how Arum said "Sorry Juan, it's just business" after the third fight where he clearly beat Pacquiao.

Arum hated JMM for leaving Top Rank (despite coming back) and being such a threat to Pacquiao his most loyal fighter.
