I find it hard to be excited about this fight. Is there any way Loma can come out of this with credit? Rigo hasn't even fought at FW, let alone SFW. The two seem two far apart for me in terms of age and weight so as I said, I'm not as excited as some are. Kudos to the two for reaching a deal, top boxers should be seeking each other out but I just think Rigo is in a bit of a win-win situation here and it won't do anything for Loma or his career.
I'll believe this when I see it. I'd also be interested to see at what weight this has supposedly been agreed. I'd imagine as high as possible so Rigo can maximise earnings and excuse making potential for his inevitable KO loss.
I'm 99.9% sure it's at 130 lb. Think it might happen, the Salido fight never got this far in negotiations. I'm ok with it, the skill level will be insane for as long as it lasts. And a surprising number of people think Rigo beats Loma, even on this thread ... So not a pointless fight.
Lesser fight and potential victory than the titlists or Salido II, but still a very acceptable fight for Lomo. It will shut up one of the two annoying fan bases. And that's a great thing if nothing else. Picking Lomo to win by a late stoppage, at this moment. Might switch over to decision in time, we'll see.
