Loma occasionally slapping their opponent guards down from the top to deliver his hooks, we saw wladimir did it from time to time as well.
Is this a legal move ?

I've seen SO many boxers copy this, it seems to have become a standard piece of toolkit for a boxer. It probably is legal because I've never seen any warnings given for it by a referee and it's not exactly a very discreet move.

Loma arguably makes it look like a punch, I think.

Pinning an opponent's arm to him and hitting him. Legal? Leaning on the shoulder of an opponent who bends at the waste. Legal?

Slapping jab with the back of the hand is illegal, but not with the palm side.
Punching on the top of the head when the opponent duck is ok but not thumping.
A lot of grey area here, maybe somebody who knows more about the rule can contribute more.

I smell something coming... I smell hypocrites and apologists coming.

It's the fight game. Most top fighters out there do something that bends the rulebook, a lot of times routinely and flagrantly. Fans pick and choose when they like to complain but that's a different story.

I've seen guys do that sort of stuff before, trapping or moving their opponent's hands, usually with infighting.

I don't know if it is legal or not but during the fight one of the commentators points it out and says that it is completely legal.

I don't see why it would be illegal... It's not holding or fouling...

There is nothing in the rule book that says you can't do it. There is a rule which says you can't adopt a totally passive defence. Loma is doing his own Refereeing with the slap down.

It's not a legal move, but it's one that's used often and they don't usually do much to prevent it.

It's technically a missed punch that happens to land on a glove/arm. Loma haters now looking to punish missed punches from one of the most accurate punchers today?

Quote the rule which says it's illegal. It is not used often. Nothing is done about it because it is not illegal.

Punching away the guard must be legal? Just as legal as punching ones arms or shoulders.

Grabbing hold of the guard is just as illegal as all holding.
