Rugged, tough, and battle tested. Good fighter. Ultimately too blue collar to have much success vs top talent like Loma or Mikey, but he's solid.

Between Tank, Haney, and Lopez (and I'm sure I'm forgetting another name or two), there's good talent coming through at LW. If they have to try and go through Loma for a belt, so much the better. I don't see anything that attractive at 140 until the WBSS (hopefully it can actually finish) winner is crowned.

Shafikov is from Chelyabinsk, a 2.5 hour flight from Moscow. Hardly his hometown. And the ref and the judges were all American.

    Referee: Charlie Fitch
    Judges:
    Steve Weisfeld 115-113
    Joe Pasquale 116-112
    Adelaide Byrd 112-116

I thought the fight was pretty close and commey lost it in the final round where he stayed on his feet against all odds, after eating a monster shot..

Loma ain't stopping Commey. He will however
dominate him. Commey's far too raw.

Commey is a tough fighter with good power. He’s rated top 10 possibly top 5 by most.

He’s a perfectly fine and qualified challenger the problem is Lomachenko is so good and would completey outbox and dominate Commey which makes the fight not as interesting as it should be.

The fight might not happen next anyway since Commey is talking about a possible hand injury

I thought the loss to Easter was the right decision

was the commey fight for a belt. or did he already have a major one??? if so then make commey fight now. crolla fight isnt appetizing, an unlikely for loma to want to fight him. commey seems to be more of a difficult fight.

They fought for the vacant IBF belt. Which Mikey Garcia "voluntarily" vacated  (or he was stripped of, I'm not sure).
