Given their weight classes, if it was physically possible for Loma to move up 4 divisions and also for Usyk to drop 4 divisions so that both meet up at 160 (Middleweight) on a even footing, who would win? Obviously, Usyk would have to shrink in height to keep things realistic. It would be a superb match up, one that sat here thinking about it I simply couldn't call. Right now, I am just edging towards Loma in this ultimate fantasy fight. His weird angles edge it for me. Thoughts? Anyone else got a fantasy fight?
I think op trying to say if both were the same size like if you shrunk Usyk in a shrinking ray. I think Lomachenko is the more talented fighter, OP. Usyk seems a very good technician but I don't think he's truly special like lomachenko
That's a bit rude. Given the recent P4P lists, it got me thinking that if it was possible for some of these fighters to meet had genetics been kinder (weight, size, etc), then who would come out top if the fighters kept their actual skill sets. Apologies for posting something a bit different to the daily inane "Hearn/Wilder/AJ is a ****" "Hearn/Wilder/AJ isn't a ****" drivel. Infern0121 got the gist of what I was saying. I wasn't pouring a slight on either fighter. I respect every fighter, good bad or indifferent, who steps through the ropes. Is this thread any worse than saying Prime Ali v Prime Tyson? I just put a slight twist upon it. As you were... have a top weekend fella's.
Fantasy match up - Carl Frampton vs Anthony Joshua. If AJ drops 5 weights and Frampton comes up 5 weights, who would you have winning and why?
Now obviously, with the drop in weight, there would be a drop in power from AJ (whom I am a fan as I am with Fury). Taking this into account and the fact that I think, my opinion only, that Frampton has the better boxing brain, then I could see this going to Frampton on Points. Of course, I would still have AJ as the heavier puncher at the weight they meet at but sometimes, heavy punching isn't the end all and be all (although it doesn't do any harm to have it within ones armoury). Positioning is though. A couple of years ago, I had Frampton as the British P4P #1. You may disagree with me here. Absolutely fine. Apologies for the delayed reply. Was playing online Scrabble.
Impossible to even consider really because their styles would have to change with size differences. They have a lot of similarities. I think Loma is probably the 'better' of the two, slightly. But Usyk has a longer career ahead of him
It's near impossible to say as their styles would radically change. Essentially Usyk fights the same style as Lomachenko but being a much bigger guy his movement and speed is more limited by his weight. So whereas at Cruiser and possibly heavy he can move much better and swifter than others at the weight watching him side by side with Lom at the lower weights he is literally slower because Loma doesn't have to carry as much mass. If you shrunk one and enlarged the other then their mass would change and that would effect how well they moved and thus you'd have different fighters. What I can say this far is Usyk seems to hold a shot better than Loma but both have solid chins. Neither are huge punchers but have good pop, probable edging Loma as the better P4P puncher.
