Would Loma bring the fight inside against the lightweight Duran?

Loma probably could stay outside like the SRL - Duran #2.

Obviously, Duran's right hand is "as powerful", if not more powerful,
    than Linares' right hand.

    Who wins?

It figures that Duran would KO Lemo. Duran KO'd some very good lightweights and as talented as Lemo is, he is not at his best at lightweight. Just like Duran, as good as he was, was never at his best at welterweight and even less so at middle.

Maybe Duran was at his best at welteweight or at least just as good as he was at lightweight but the only difference was that at welterweight the quality of the opponent was higher?

On another thread, I just noted that Lomachenko has been elevated in my rankings. But Duran kills him.

Duran went the distance at LW with a lot worse fighters than Lomachenko. This is not nearly as dramatically one sided as people seem to think.

I did enter the thread expecting this, but I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here. I'd predict a close fight and that's about all I have to say on the matter.

Duran has all the advantages in this fight we have to remember that we are taking Loma at his biggest against Duran at his smallest.....the fight would be fun for awhile but I see Duran taking him mid-late.....The right Linares hit him with was hard with good technique not a Duran class shot but hard Loma was not hurt his eyes were clear and he rode out the round moving IMO to re-establish his rhythm at that point Linares was on fire so he out maneuvered him......Loma is a Jedi in the ring

I've got to say I haven't been following Lomachenko at all (or much current boxing for that matter) but his win over Linares has really made me sit up and take notice.

Linares has always struck me as a tough, durable fighter with very solid fundamentals. If Lomachenko was going to come unstuck, it would have happened against him and I honestly thought he would, but he didn't and he stopped Linares too - that's impressive. He looks like the real deal.

Duran rarely comes out on the wrong side of a mythical head to head at lightweight so it's pretty hard to pick against him here, particularly against a guy who has had only 12 fights. But Lomachenko at least seems to be fundamentally good enough to give Duran something to think about, so I don't automatically think Duran would blow him away.

The winner is the one who manages to stay on the front foot. Against Linares, Loma was able to be the aggressor for the whole fight, something Linares isn't normally used to.

Duran likes to bait his opponent with one hand and then throw the other, and that would confuse the majority of lightweights, but not Loma. Loma has seen it all, there is no doubt that skills-wise Lomachenko is one of, if not the best ever at that weight.

Trying to play the setup game against Lomachenko results in getting countered to death. So I personally want to go with Loma on this one. He has learned from the Salido fight, and he knows how to deal with a dirty, tear-up type of style, especially after dominating linares.

It goes 12 rounds. That is for sure, I don't think Loma has any outstanding power, that is the one disadvantage he has in this fight. Duran will pay him no respect whatsoever because of that. It may mean there will be shaky moments in the fight for Loma.

Duran fights similarly to how Linares did in the Loma fight, but with more aggression. Linares was forced to having his feet straight, and neither moving forward, leaving him on the back foot against Loma. It would be the same thing, Duran in the same situation. But Duran is used to that stance, and it will come a little more naturally to him. I personally think Loma wins this fight on points, 8-4. He has to adapt throughout and loses rounds because of that. But some of the rounds are dominant, while others are clearly in favour of Duran and his aggression.

This is what I think . He fought at welterweight or 154 as early as 1978 because he had trouble at lightweight making weight. and he fought well. He stepped up in competition fighting the Leonard,Benitez and Hearns at 154, and I must say before those 3 fought at 154-duran fought there before they did.

You've failed to take into consideration the fact that Duran is multiple levels above Linares.

Duran is invincible on the Classic Forum.

Lomachenko is invincible in the General Forum.

    I'll call it a draw.
