Did Mayweather fought Marquez at featherweight?? Noo, Imagine Sanchez or anyone favorite against Marquez at featherweight against Mayweather at welterweight
Yep, and Loma made no excuses. He beat the top rated LW in the division by KO with one healthy arm. Came back and fought Pedrazza as early as you can come back after shoulder surgery. Pitched a shutout without being able to throw a right hook or any real power shots with his right arm. I wish there was better competition at Featherweight or Super. Loma has a small frame and I don’t think he can fight his style if he gains too much weight. Fighters are best at their natural weight. After Teo, Haney and Tank, I hope he moves down, fights MB and maybe rematches GRJ.
You seems to reply in haste and emotionally without reading my post carefully to miss the word "in his entire career"
Yes, people also conveniently forget that he jumped right back into a unification match up with a two-weight world champion and former world amateur silver medalist in Pedraza only 7 months after shoulder surgery, an injury and surgery that according to Andre Ward who had been through the same thing himself takes about 12 months to recover from properly. Even Pedraza said it was too early to come back. Loma's surgeon advised him against coming back that quickly after surgery but Loma ignored his advise so they devised a game plan together that revolved around him not throwing the right hook (his most powerful punch) or if he did so to only do so sparingly. Hence why he didn't really start throwing any or the right uppercut till the 9th round IIRC. Ward fought Edwin Rodriguez in his first fight back after shoulder surgery and that was 10 months after surgery not 7. And Jarrett Hurd fought domestic level Jason Welborn in his first fight back after shoulder surgery. Me too. I've never liked the idea of him being up at 135 as it is because he's giving away huge physical advantages to virtually everyone he's fought or will face at that weight. I had no problem with him picking up a belt up there to become a three-weight champion and then moving back down but I've never been comfortable with him campaigning up there.
Interesting question. Marquez is definitely considered a clear notch above Linares. Styles make fights though, and Marquez had trouble with Bradley at 147, but also with Barrera at 135. One a slick boxer. One a more straight up and down technical boxer brawler. Marquez did beat a past prime Casamayor, but Casa wasn' t equivalent to Loma.
Loma. Easily. Marquez v. Bradley tells us everything we need to know. Marquez wants no part of any discipled boxer that is a master of angles. 118-110, 117-111 type of fight.
