It was boring for anyone who doesnt care about who wins. You, nuthuggers, were absoulutely thrilled with the fight, ofc. Take any casual friend of yours with no idea about who they were and tell him to watch that fight, you will see how "fun" the fight was in his face without any problem.
You are utterly clueless as to what constitutes a great, exciting fight. Regardless of who you were backing , and regardless of what you thought of the judges' decision, it as one of the very best and most exciting fights in a long time, with both men displaying huge amounts of skill , talent and effort. And no, you weren't taking about "...any casual friend of yours with no idea who they were..." Your exact words: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/loma-wasnt-robbed.703878/page-3#post-22319257 Or maybe you were...? Who did you say would find it boring... And I think most on here would agree with your assessment of yourself as a casual.
The fight is boring for both, casuals with no clue and hardcore fans who really know what's happening. As long as they dont care about who wins. 1. The fight is boring for a casual for obvious reasons. 2. The fight is boring for a hardcore fan because the tactical theme is THE SAME for 12 rounds. The adjustments were close to zero and they proposed the same problems once and again and again for 12 rounds and resolved it the same way once and again and again. On top of that, the lack of power was amazing. It was obvious that nothing was going to change there, that there was going to be NO surprise at all and that we were going to watch those 2 guys doing the same for 12 rounds and nothing else. You were absolutely excited with your 20 beers in your stomach and cheering for your boy loma while hugging his nuts. I'm sure about that, as well as the others hugging Haney's nuts. But the fight was boring if you have no nuts to hug and you just got up from bed at 5:30 am.
You've already outed yourself as a casual fan of the sport, Chacal. You have no appreciation of the finer points of the sport, as you have clearly demonstrated. And judging by this post above, you've never heard of the old saying...when you find yourself in a hole, don't keep digging. If you think the fight was boring, why don't you put up a poll and see if the forum agrees with you or laughs you off as clueless. Or If you want to hear from someone who is actually somewhat knowledgeable about boxing in general, why don't you have a listen to the @Rumsfeld post-fight impressions below. Not sure I would class the fight as boring, it wasn't a thriller either and despite the pre fight hype there was a certain lack of drama for the reasons you've laid out. But it was very competitive and that made it entertaining enough for a first time watch, not a fight I'll go back to watch again but not one I'd say was a stinker.
I'm hoping ESPN shows a replay this weekend (like HBO used to do a week after a big PPV fight) so I can DVR it. Two skilled operators with a bit of bad blood between them. I'd really like to see a rematch. Would you not like to see a rematch, chacal?
After all of the dust have settled…and a rewatch. (1st time) 7-5 or 8-4 Loma hands down imo, Loma was just better. Excellent fight regardless and respect to both 8-4 Haney though…
One judge had it 8-4 for Haney lol, so even if one judge actually gave Loma a decision he’d still have lost a split…
Has anybody contacted that ****er and asked him to explain that???? Why isn’t he being put on the spot???? These puke judges score **** decisions and just slither away without hassle! Why?
