Lomachencko VS Walters...Fighter vs Runner???

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Apocolypse313, May 22, 2015.

  1. When you think of current slick defensive fighters you think, Mayweather, Ward, Rigondeaux, and Thurman to a degree.
What about the former Soviets own Vasyl Lomachencko.
He is what most of you guys call "feather fisted" and broke his hand the fight before last punching his opponents dome. He moves around alot in the ring to avoid punches and has a excellent counter punching mentality like the fighters mentioned above but no one calls him boring or a runner.
I have not seen many post here about Nicholas Walters even though he just K.O. ed two former multi division beast which Vasyl has yet to accomplish beating one. Walters get no praise from any of your power punch loving, knockout artist praising fight fans.
Loma is a runner because, let's be real, he has 0 power.

I can't wait to see the comments when they fight and read about how slick and evasive Loma is. I guess he won't have his dancing shoes on for the Walters fight if it is made, right?
Will he go toe-to-toe or will he ruuunnnnnn... ?:bbb

Comparable to Gerry ****ey's wins over Ken Norton, Ron Lyle and Jimmy Young. Look what happened to him after that

Actually, I might be selling Walter's victories a little bit short with that comparison, but Donaire looked awful in the rematch against Darchinyan and both have been past their best for half a decade IMO.

Lomachenko is at his best when he moves forward making his opponents miss with his foot work and head movement to find angles to land his own, his style is different to those you have listed in that his aim isn't to box on the outside rather create angle in mid to close range.

  5. Rigo did the same thing to Donaire after the knock down and has been doing it his last couple of fights.
I know why guys like Loma (because I do) and despise the other guys but it's hard to get people to be honest and real. Boxing is an cultural ,individual sport if that makes any sense.
I know why I cheer for the guys above and it's not the country or the language.

Do you know the first thing about boxing? Lomachenko is a defensive come forward fighter who throws combinations, he is nothing like the other fighters you mentioned. Running.. Good one

If Lomachenko has zero power then why has he hurt everyone he has fought? Also don't forget he stepped up to championship level straight away, he didn't waste time knocking out 20 bums. His opponent in his last fight was a fringe contender who had never been down or stopped, and Lomachenko stopped him.

He has zero power yet has hurt or dropped everyone he has been against? And why would he be called a "boring runner"? He may, at times, moves around the ring in a manner reminiscent of other boxers, but he most certainly engages. He threw 1,006 punches against Piriyapinyo for fvcks sake.

    This.....

Every single opponent he has been in with so far, he's been able to hurt and quite badly too. Is he a KO puncher? No, but when he sits down on his punches he has enough power with accumulation to get people out of there.

However, if he decides to move up, then power may become a problem for him but it's not the case yet.

Typical spin doctoring nonsense full of half truth's and hyperbole from an anti E.E., Afrocenric bigot.

Walters has gotten heaps of positive feedback and exposure on here and Loma has a style you should love but do not for obvious reasons.

FYI the Soviet Union collapsed when Loma was 3!

Although by his own means of bringing up Lomachenko, the OP kinda has a point about Walters going under the radar
