Leo Santa Cruz wants no part of Lomachenko. I dig Leo and thought his 2nd fight with Frampton showed a ring IQ/game plan that he hadn't shown before but since then he's taken soft fights. I have no doubt Loma's been ducked by more fighters than that though. Mikey went up for the $ and it won't hinder his reputation if he gets beaten by Spence b/c Spence is a HUGE welter. I think a bad loss to Loma diminishes Mikey's future earning capacity quite a bit so I would imagine that played a part in his decision making.
Where does all this huge welter bull**** come from. It reminds me of all the Walters was a huge featherweight crap. Spence is smaller than Vernon Forrest, Oscar De La Hoya, Antonio Margarito, Kermit Cintron, Mike Jones, Paul Williams etc. Those guys were big welterweights. Spence at a shorter height, 5'9, with a frame that isn't overly muscular, isn't a huge welterweight at all.
From the horses mouth in a interview before Brook fight: Can you tell us what it was like for you to get down to 147 pounds or maybe what you walk around at? “It’s not easy at all. I’m a big welterweight too. It’s my job and I don’t complain about making weight because it’s my job. It’s part of what I have to do. I walk around pretty heavy, but I get the weight off and come 100% prepared. I’m not worried about my weight; I’m not worried about his weight. That’s what all fighters go through. There are guys that come down 30 or 40 pounds all the time. It’s not something that I worry about.”
He can say what he wants. It doesn't change the fact that he is 5'9, not overly muscular, and makes 147 everytime he fights. He's smaller than the guys I previously mentioned, who were actual huge welters.
Not Overly Muscular? He's built like a brick s***house. And most if not all the guys you mentioned moved up in weight as well.
Loma could definitely build a time machine, but he aint ever knocking out Marvelous Marvin Hagler my GOAT middleweight.
I said that tongue-in-cheek, to emphasise the point that, no matter what Loma accomplishes, some people will never be satisfied.
Every human boxer in history is a 'hypejob' in the context of all the combatants that exist in the entire Universe. Since humans are some of the most unrefined combatants in all of existence and boxers happen to be even more unrefined than other humans that utilize other combat systems in their own planet. However, I think it's now been empirically proven that Lomachenko, although a 'hypejob' just like all his other human compatriots who are also combatants, especially from boxing. He is still less of a hypejob than anybody else in human boxing history. He is still far above all the other lesser hypejobs from the human race as far as the sport of boxing goes. Lomachenko's feinting skills, mobility, agility, number of angles he is able to attack from, overall defensive moves he's mastered, overall attacking moves he's mastered, multi-tasking ability with full body coordination and control, distance control and etc. are all of a higher quality and quantity than any other boxer who's ever existed in the history of human boxing.
LOL That ***** ALWAYS brings up height as the main thing in regards to a fighters potential in a weight division or going up against different fighters. He likes to add a few inches in height to some fighters while taking a few inches off other fighters to suit his argument. A boxers frame is the main determining factor. Not ****ing height Akbarf One will claim. Ask David Tua or Mike Tyson who both were under 5’11” According to Akbarf Rigo “Rigs” is 5’3” and Loma is 5’8”
