Yeah because US promotions don't get their fighters to fight bums early in their careers

Yes they do but which boxers should he fight in Europe he said he wants to fight boxers like Pac or Mosley which fighter at their level would travel to Europe to fight him. K2 would probably turn him into a cash cow for fights in Ukrain and Germany I don't want him to waste his career like that

Lomachenko comes with more to offer than those guys though, he's a double olympic gold medallist with the greatest amateur record of all time. Rigo has had plenty of hype so far despite his poor opposition, all based on his reputation and amateur achievements. Lomachenko has that reputation plus he is an aggressive, heavy hitter with a fan pleasing style and a desire to fight the best.
Once Lomachenko demolishes a few opponents the hype will go through the roof, this is the next p4p guy we're talking about here. Golovkin and Pirog are good fighters but they're nowhere near the same level of talent.

I guess and hope that Usyk will turn pro as a heavyweight. He's been fighting as a superheavy between WC 2011 and London and I read somewhere that he was weighting about 225 lbs in one of the tournaments, so I guess that he feels more comfortable at +201. The weightlosing might also explain his poor performance against Beterbyev. He looked almost sick in that fight.

Good point. I hope you are right. I just wonder if there is enough of a market for Ukrainian fighters, and whether the networks and promoters would be sufficiently interested to promote him properly.

Don't you worry about marketability of these guys. Just look at these guys they have lots of character that attracts people's attention. Usyk is like Ovechkin in hockey he is very flashy with this clown persona about him and Loma is just an amazing fighter that will awe people with his fighting skills. With the right promoter and tv exposure they will sell. I hope dychko will turn pro as well.

I could see the APB becoming sort of a minor league for pro boxing. Guys who don't want to stay amateur for another 4 years could make some money fighting top fighters and then move straight into title contention as a real pro. Or guys too old to make an impact in the pros could make a living off APB til they're 40.

But if there's long-term contracts involved...who does the AIBA/APB think they are?

They think that they are an organisation which has access to and supervision of the main source of highly skilled prospects into the pro game and also has a worldwide reach. And they think that they can turn that into a dominant position in pro boxing, by setting up a scene controlled by a single promoter of the sort we see in MMA.

They are probably wrong, but they aren't stupid. If they actually make serious headway, we would see quite a lot of changes in boxing, positive and negative. One of the positive changes is that we'd have powers that be who would see the best fighting the best as being in their own interests, as opposed to the current situation where protecting fighters and padding resumes is the name of the game.

The problem with their idea is that they can't dominate pro boxing with amateur fighters. Amateur fighters aren't names and don't have followings that generate the kind of money pros do (yet). Their idea bars currently established pros from their setup, which means that they'll have to develop who they currently have for years before any sort of dominance of pro boxing is reached. For this to happen, they'll need fans, and fans don't like robberies as pervasive as the ones overseen by the AIBA. Unfortunately, returning to the 10-point must will help those robberies occur.

I think the 10 point must will develop better fighters, but to compete one's whole career under judging as corrupt and inept as the AIBA's isn't a good prospect for many fighters.

Furthermore, the absolute best fighters will be able to make more money and gain more recognition in the professional game, so the AIBA will lose those fighters and be left with a second-rate organization.

The changes the AIBA wants to make are so far in the future that they'll never get there. Would a young fighter want to be the next middleweight/heavyweight champion of the world...or the 1st APB middleweight/heavyweight champion of the world? The history just isn't there. I don't see them attracting anything more than second-rate fighters who wouldn't make it as pros or older amateurs (Cammarelle, Sapiyev, etc)

Broner would get annihilated by Lomachenko in either amateur or pro competition, Broner is a B grade fighter trying to imitate an A grade fighter (Mayweather).
