Did he live up to the ridiculous hype some of his overzealous fans put on him? No but he's still a great fighter was p4p #1 and my p4p #1 for awhile he's hof worthy no doubt.

The haters were certainly out in droves back then...boy how infantile and ignorant they now appear.

Vast, I believe that Lomachenko will become the best boxer in the world again and become undisputed lightweight champion. He truly is a special fighter, and my favorite active fighter. It’s a pleasure to watch him in action.

Maybe he's not the GOAT, but he's still had a great career, and is a future HOFer.

    • Tied the record for fewest number of pro fights to win a world title
    • Holds the record for fewest number of pro fights to win a world title in 2 weight classes
    • Holds the record for fewest number of pro fights to win a world title in 3 weight classes
    • Wins over Gary Russell Jr., Guillermo Rigondeaux, Nicholas Walters, and Jorge Linares
    • Has fought world champions or top 10 contenders since his pro debut
    • Has beaten 9 former, current and future world champions
    • All this in fewer than 20 pro fights

He makes his living fighting and usually beating bigger guys. That is not easy, ask Canelo.

Agreed. He has had a superlative career and has nothing to apologize for. Some of his fans tried to concoct an aura of invincibility around him and have not been able to come to terms with the fact that he is a "merely great" fighter, which is a shame.

I agree but Loma is a human being like everyone else. I mention in another thread is that this where fanboys become unstuck. as they put someone on a pedestal and it's unreasonable to hold someone to that standard especially if they are taking on everyone they can. If you fight everyone without cherry picking and ducking it's only time before you take an L. I think he's achieved a great deal despite having so few fights.
