Not sure how to feel about this.. On one hand I'm very pleased we'll see Salido and Miura duke it out in a another potential FOTY candidate...:happy

But on the other hand, I want to see Lomachenko fight Salido to see if he will do better against the aging warrior.. Instead he might be fighting Gamboa who has not done anything since getting KTFO.

WTF is wrong with Lomachenko and NOT wanting to pay Salido for a rematch yet willing to fight someone who isn't even ranked at the moment :-(

Lomachenko vs Gamboa would be a great fight depending on if Gamboa is in decent form. I'd much rather see this than a Salido rematch

Lomachenko isn't the one who pays Salido his purse so I don't know what he has to do with it. At best Loma can offer up part of his purse as a prize to the winner like he was willing to do with Walters.

Well there ya go.. How bad does he wantnto avenge that blemish?

Surely he can demand TR to cut Salido a bigger piece of the pie.. Vasyl isn't a slave with zero say.

Obviously not that bad if he would rather move on with his career than fight for a small paycheck. Not that he hasn't already moved on. Since the Salido fight he's won two titles and became a two division champion. I would like to see the fight but I just don't think a promoter is going to pay a guy coming of a loss and two draws what he demands to be paid.

That has squat to do with it. Salido's reputation for putting up good fights and his victory over Loma nullifies those iffy results. The public wants to see that fight. IMO some of it has to do with Loma's people knowing that he can't afford another loss right now and a win over Salido is not 100% guaranteed.

You might be right. Honestly, the best we can do is speculate on how the promoter views the fight. It's a unique situation. It's not often you have a champion on a hot streak demanding a fight against a guy with Salido's record. Even if the promoter understands the viewers Salido brings that doesn't mean they won't try and use his past 3 fights as leverage to hog a larger piece of the pie.

I'd rather see Loma-Salido first purely to see Lomachenko avenge his loss but Gamboa would be a better fight all in all. It's a more skilled matchup.

This situation will tell me all that I need to know about Loma. Is he a good business man or is he a fighter.

By the way, the thread title got me all excited thinking that talks for both of those fights on the same card might be taking place.

Lomachenko-Gamboa, at 130, I suppose ? Gamboa is my great dissapointment, he has wasted his talent, and nowadays I consider this a mismatch...And, I doubt he can make weight, too......

Well there were the examples of Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather both wanting a piece of Arturo Gatti. In Salido's case this happens more than you'd think since he's already fought Juan Manuel Marquez, Robert Guerrero, Juan Manuel Lopez, and Mikey Garcia.

Salido and Gatti are like the ultimate high reward low risk opponents. They have a big fan base because they always turn in exciting fights, but they have a limited skill set which makes them easily beatable. It's no surprise why Lomachenko wanted him the first time, the same reason that Floyd Mayweather wanted Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero, Andre Berto, and Marcos Maidana.

Salido intentionally prices himself out of a Lomachenko rematch, blame Loma.

Lomachenko fights a guy that beat Salido and is still much better, blame Lome.

Intentionally? WTF? Are you an uneducated dunce?

    "Take it or leave it"
    -Lomachenko's Team

Removing any room to negotiate. In other words, they don't care to fight Salido and avenge Loma's loss. :verysad

500K for Salido, yet they paid lesser known Martinez 525K?

    You're a tool :deal
