Fair post. But Pedraza hasn't done anything YET to make that win Davis had over him look bad. He also didn't embarrass himself against Loma.

Why is the Linares KD constantly brought up and used as an example of Loma having a bad chin and being vulnerable to getting iced? It was a flash KD, he clearly wasnt buzzed, and went on to wreck Linares. And the fight wasnt at 130, it was at 135 against a fighter noticeably bigger than himself. Linares may not ve the biggest puncher but that was a perfectly timed and placed shot, against a smaller fighter at the perfect moment when all his weight was moving forward into it. A shot like that usually hurts guys really bad. Loma popped right up.

I cant see either guy stopping the other. To beat Loma, you absolutely NEED to take the Salido approach. If Loma is coming forward hes winning the fight. The only fighter at 130 recently that may be the exception to that rule is FMJ. Would have been one he'll of a fight and razor close either way I think.

If there are two guys challenging you for a fight, one is smaller than you and one is bigger. Who do you pick to fight ?

My bad. Didn’t realize this was the only boxing forum online. In that case, Rigo was too small and nobody picked him to win. Everyone said what a garbage fight this was and nobody was hyped to see it. My apologies for getting it all wrong. Rigo was not considered an elite, class A fighter.

Because enough knuckleheads called for the Rigo fight and called Loma a ducker for blowing it off.

Truth is, he's probably way more interested after the Thurman win because now he'd get more credit for it and Pac's a champ again. We'll probably see it in 2020 after he unifies lightweight.

    Great post.

I don't even think the Salido approach would work any more- its effectiveness came from Salido bringing something new to the table Loma hadn't been exposed to at the time. To Siri's credit, he brought a dirty pro fight to a guy used to fighting clean opposition for 400 fights. Something new.

Loma being Loma, he learned on the spot and adapted, but it took him a couple rounds too long. He had Siri figured out by the end, but ran out of rounds to take the W.

If Pacquaio can make 135, sure why not.

Davis needs to get more busy and up the competition level. He’s likely at the beginning of his prime, and I feel like he’s starting to waste some of it. When Mayweather was his age, it seemed like he was fighting every couple months.

Oh it’s not the only website, I appreciate the sarcasm....touché.

You sensationalized the amount of people backing Rigo so I thought it would be appropriate to provide you with a more accurate reality. I don’t recall many people saying it was a garbage fight to propose, however, I did see people viewing the fight as a forgone conclusion.

Rigo was considered a high level operator and very much an elite of the sport, still, how does his boxing quality nullify his age and diminutive size? The man was compromised and most folks realized this. You didn’t get it all wrong so stop bashing yourself and keep your head up grasshopper.
